5 Ways to Increase Your Affiliate SalesWritten by John Purdy
Most home business owners are involved with affiliate marketing. As an affiliate marketer, a combination of techniques can be used to promote your affiliate website and/or link. Here are five things you can do to help with your promotional efforts resulting in increased affiliate sales.1. Become an “expert” on product The most successful affiliate marketers are “experts” on products they promote. To become an expert, it’s highly recommended that you purchase product yourself to gain first-hand experience using it. If you cannot purchase product, you must thoroughly research it until you become familiar and knowledgeable enough to promote it. 2. Participate in chat rooms related to product You can start your own chat or join an existing one. Do not try to selling initially, but during your chat, mention product you’re promoting and describe its benefits. If there is interest in your product, you can then refer them to product through your affiliate link. The same concept holds true for forums and discussion boards. 3. Write your own affiliate program ads Most merchants will provide pre-written ads for their affiliates to use. If you write your own ad, or make significant changes to one that’s pre-written, your ad will stand out from others. Done properly, this will give you a great advantage over those affiliates that are using same ad as everyone else.
| | I Did It: Six Months to a Successful WebsiteWritten by The Gift Wizard
For years now I've been looking to start my own business, but my highest priority has always been to spend less time working, and more time with my family, while still giving them everything they need (and most of what they want). It's a common dream, right? No boss to answer to, less stress, more vacation, more quality family time... I wanted to get away from 9 to 5 and traffic. (I bet you do, too.)So, I started to research various business opportunities. I looked into franchises of all sorts, but money I had to invest upfront was way too much (thousands of dollars, at a minimum), which made idea too risky - I couldn't risk my family's financial well-being on a dream of mine. I was even close to falling for various MLM schemes. Luckily I never made it that far. When Internet became more and more prominent in, well, society in general, it just became something I couldn't ignore anymore. So I did some more research, this time on creating a website. I began to like idea, for many reasons: 1. I could start it with little $ invested (so, hardly any risk) 2. I could start it while I was still in my 9 to 5 job (again, no burden on my family financially) 3. I could choose subject of website (and focus on something that I enjoyed) It was then that I decided to use choosing gifts (something I enjoy) as basis for my site. But then I had to figure out exactly HOW to create it. There's a lot involved (much that I didn't know at start): domain registration, hosting, page creation, search engine submission, keywords, titles, descriptions, site promotion... whew! At first it seemed like way too much to handle, and with massive amounts of websites out there (60 million and counting) I feared my site would just get lost in crowd (so what's point). I almost gave up idea altogether.
