Onrepparttar many occasions when she worked back or took work home so that her boss would have what he wanted forrepparttar 104108 next morning,he never thanked her. He just assumed that's what she should do. He never considered her needs. She was a single parent and therefore had major responsibilities. She had a life too. Her boss onrepparttar 104109 other hand was fortunate to have a a wife who didn't work and took care of their personal life.

Prior to Jenny being in this role, there had been three other people who had worked in her position, and all three had lasted less than three months.

Jenny had enough, she left after 6 months and found her current position. It wasn'trepparttar 104110 money that was her main issue. It wasrepparttar 104111 flexibility and appreciation. Although her boss was pleasant enough, he just didn't understand that there is more to working with someone than just paying their wages.

The Final Word When employing staff make sure they arerepparttar 104112 right fit. If you're looking for someone who can be extremely flexible in their hours and can come in early and stay late, then make sure that person is inrepparttar 104113 right personal situation to do that.

Employing people is a skill in itself. Keeping them happy so that they will be an important part of your business is another story. As mentioned in prior newsletters, when you look after your people, they will look after you and your business.

It was very interesting that both property managers contacted me only when they had been notified by my new property management company that their services were no longer required. In fact, both of them were very upset. They were upset? I'mrepparttar one who was paying them, notrepparttar 104107 other way around. They both wanted to know why I was changing and I certainly told them.

Whenrepparttar 104108 new property manager did an inspection on one ofrepparttar 104109 properties, repparttar 104110 tenants were home. They told my new property manager thatrepparttar 104111 old company provided very poor service and they were very slow following up any problems they had. I told that torepparttar 104112 old company andrepparttar 104113 manager replied "tenants always say that".

Anyhowrepparttar 104114 point of this story is to spell out that because people don't say anything, doesn't mean they are happy with your services. Also as a business person you need to be onrepparttar 104115 ball. Be pro-active, not re-active.

And to do all of this you need to learn how to get organised, manage your time and yourself as effectively as possible. These are not skills most people are born with. They need to be learned.

The Final Word There is plenty of business around, however most people spend heaps of time chasing it, takerepparttar 104116 money and run off torepparttar 104117 next person. Yet it would be so much easier to look after what you already have. (Andrepparttar 104118 same applies to your personal life.)
