Who Needs Heroes?

Do you compare yourself with others? Who do you compare yourself with? What arerepparttar attributes you compare? Are you comparing like with like? You can compare males and females and they way they perform tasks, parents against children, different age groups. You can compare how your opinions are similar or different. Butrepparttar 123002 best you can get is that you are mostly similar or mostly different. What about jealousy? How do you measure that? You can compare products with different versions. But people? How do you compare yourself with your parents or grandparents? You could be like Shakespeare and compare yourself against nature i.e. beauty with day and night. But not compare one person against another. Comparing yourself with others is like putting yourself in a prison. A prison which can only bring pain. A prison that stops you from experiencing your true talents. No one puts you in this prison, you do it all by yourself. You simply learn, as I did, not to accept yourself and reject who you really are in favour for what you perceive another person has. In other words you give yourself a hard time and delay your own growth because you thoughtrepparttar 123003 other person was better than you. Trust yourself, you have allrepparttar 123004 skills you need to succeed. All you need is a change of process. Stop judging yourself. Instead of comparing yourself with others, subverting your own power and constantly under performing; focus on your potential. What you want to be. Meditate on where you want to be. Imagine yourself achieving your potential. What does it look like, what does it feel like. Surround yourself with images and artefacts depictingrepparttar 123005 future you and gradually, you will become what you always wanted to be. The more you believe in your capabilitiesrepparttar 123006 more your behaviour will change. Accessrepparttar 123007 hidden skills you have. Trust in yourself. You have far more skills and abilities than you are using at present. If you have heroes then beware you could be taking away your skills, your individualism and making yourself subservient forrepparttar 123008 rest of your life. In which case who needs heroes? 4. Put your goals in writing. This simple act helps you clarify your goals and will allow you to visualize them more effectively. I recommend that you record each goal on a separate index card and review them twice a day – once inrepparttar morning (when you first wake up) and again before you go to bed. Post index cards where you spendrepparttar 123001 most time; onrepparttar 123002 bathroom mirror, onrepparttar 123003 frig., on your nightstand, etc. This process reinforces your goals, acts as a reminder, and drives your goals deep into your subconscious. In fact, this is one ofrepparttar 123004 most powerful strategies you can use to achieve your targets.

5. Listrepparttar 123005 benefits you intend to receive by achieving each goal. This will keep you focused and strong, particularly when you facerepparttar 123006 inevitable roadblocks and barriers. In June, when I chose to lose 20 pounds, I listed 12 benefits, and when I hadrepparttar 123007 urge to put butter on my veggies or help myself to a second serving of food, I would review this list to help me get past that craving. I lostrepparttar 123008 22 pounds and two inches around my waistline to date. I think I will go for another 10 pounds. This was not a diet, just a lifestyle change. The more benefits you can list for your goals, repparttar 123009 more motivating those goals will become.

So my challenge to you to is to takerepparttar 123010 time to plan your goals. Start with one goal and visualize it, write it down, and act on it. As I always say, “If you don’t investrepparttar 123011 time to set goals then someone else will do it for you. And I guarantee you won’t like their goals.” Investrepparttar 123012 time, start today!
