When You Feel Blocked: Six Powerful Rituals to Help You Break ThroughWritten by Avalon De Witt
Continued from page 1
4. Clean Up Your Personal Environment Clean your house, your desk, your car, your yard - whatever area represents part of your life you'd like to change. For example, if you want a new lover, do a ritual cleaning of your bedroom. Spritz with rose water and put some fresh flowers next to your bed. If you want to get your business off ground, play some up-beat, motivational music, update your address book, remove old names from your list, and review your goals. Make room for new! 5. Have a Day of Silence Start early in morning, before anyone else is awake, so you're not forced to talk to anyone. Go some place where you can be in private. Bring only food and water, any clothing necessary for weather, and perhaps a blanket to sit on. No radio, no books, no pen, no paper. Only yourself. Take time to be with beautiful Light that you are. Dive deeper into your divinity! The amazing force of Love that you will discover there will clear mist and get you focused. Silence is one of shortest routes to self awareness, a major key to any kind of success. 6. Write an Interactive Letter to God Tell God/The Universe/Divine Presence (or whatever name you choose) all about your life and how you feel. Be honest and let any darkness inside you come out on page. Then, imagine you are God and respond, lovingly, compassionately and mercifully. Write whatever comes. After you've addressed your darkness, shift your focus and write your Ultimate Vision. What you would like to see yourself being, doing and having in your life? Connect with your deepest, truest, most heartfelt desires. Then respond as God again. Tell yourself what you can do today to bring you closer to realizing your dreams. As you clarify your ideal vision, your inner light will shine in glorious ways. This light will give you fuel to break through barriers that once held you back. You can try one of these rituals, a combination, or all of them! It doesn't matter what you do as long as it inspires YOU and makes YOU feel wonderful! Remember, rituals are not so much about what you do, but about your intent. Whatever ritual you choose, do it with intent of pausing long enough to let love do its work and get you un-blocked. Ultimately, being blocked is caused by denial. Denial of our power as spiritual beings. When you use a ritual to lovingly acknowledge and accept that power, blocks begin moving out of your way. You will emerge with a stronger sense of connection with all that is. And you will discover that you DO have power to change course of your life! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You have permission to reprint what you just read. However, I’ve have had some parents tell me that repeated nagging does work but then my next question usually has a different answer---At what cost? What was cost of getting that room cleaned? First, there was cost of you losing control and being a person you probably don’t want to be and secondly, there was a definite cost to relationship between you and your child. Do you believe that after an exchange such as that one, two of you will be ready and willing to have a meaningful discussion about life or anything else about which you may like to talk? Probably not. What I am about to say probably goes against what you have believed good majority of your life and that is that you, and you alone, are responsible for your own happiness. If you are waiting for someone to do something differently or for a particular thing to manifest itself in your life in order for you to be happy, then you are operating from outside in instead of inside out. I am not here to tell you to stop what you are currently doing. If you want to hold on to your beliefs that when your husband becomes more affectionate, your children more obedient, your wife more supportive, your boss more appreciative or you to get your education, pay off your credit cards, buy your first home, etc. in order for you to be happy, then go ahead. But for those of us who want to practice inside out thinking, we don’t like to give power to others to control our happiness or any of our other moods or emotions. We know that we are responsible for ourselves and no one else. What I can help you with is learning how to be person you want to be, feel emotions you want to feel by changing what you do and how you think about things. There is a quote I want to leave you with from Jimmy Dean. “You can’t change direction of wind, but you can adjust your sails.” This is representative of true inside out thinking. People and events are going to be what they are around us. There is very little we can do to impact other people’s behavior and uncontrollable events in our lives but there is always something each of us can do to manage those things better.
