When You're the New Employee or Temporary

Inrepparttar best of circumstances, you’ll be given a tour ofrepparttar 107102 offices. Depending upon how good you are at orienting yourself, this can be helpful but also confusing. If it all seems like a maze for you, note landmarks as you pass by. For instance, repparttar 107103 door that leads torepparttar 107104 stairway whererepparttar 107105 restrooms are is just torepparttar 107106 left ofrepparttar 107107 woman withrepparttar 107108 red hair.

As you’re givenrepparttar 107109 tour, pay attention to who is friendly and might be helpful. You’ll have lots of questions inrepparttar 107110 early hours and days, and it’s good to know who might be a nice resource person for you. How can you tell? They look up and smile at you, stand up to shake your hand, or even offer to help. In well-run offices, employees are professionally friendly and helpful to one another and have enough EQ to remember what it’s like to berepparttar 107111 new kid onrepparttar 107112 block. They realize everyone works more productively when acclimated, informed, and assisted.

In fact your introductory tour is a good way to testrepparttar 107113 waters forrepparttar 107114 company culture. If people are cold, unfriendly, or seem annoyed byrepparttar 107115 interruption and are impatient with your questions, things are probably going to get worse, and it’s a shame you didn’t know this beforehand. If it does continue, you’ll at least haverepparttar 107116 information that it was them, not you, that’srepparttar 107117 problem.

Such places generally have high turnover, low morale, burnout and absenteeism, which is why you might be there as a temp inrepparttar 107118 first place. More companies allrepparttar 107119 time are requiring overwhelming workloads of employees, and whenrepparttar 107120 employees yell loud enough and long enough or start staying out sick or threatening to quit, they will begrudgingly hire a temp rather than create a badly-needed permanent full-time position. If you’re a new permanent hire, you can also be walking into an office that’s in pain and stressed out. These things were created by others and there when you arrived.

Observe office etiquette, be tactful and observant. It’s bad form to comment on things you see that aren’t well done (unless you were hired to change things), so forrepparttar 107121 time being, just grin and bear it. Maintain a positive and professional attitude yourself and put your best foot forward. Conservative, businesslike attire, a sincere desire to be helpful, and consistent accountability in your work are important and will be appreciated.

Good luck!

Parents Deciding Kids Future

Written by Bilal Shah

Continued from page 1

One ofrepparttar reasons for this is that parent want to securerepparttar 107101 future for their kids as every parent rightfully would and feel that that only a few notable professions are enough respected or give enough outcomes to lead a successful life. I blame this onrepparttar 107102 government, as there are no career plans made forrepparttar 107103 youth or no guideline. They are no advisors or planners who would help students and inform their parents aboutrepparttar 107104 positives and negatives of any profession. One more thing here is people are most interested in things, which are repparttar 107105 flavor ofrepparttar 107106 month and supported byrepparttar 107107 government really ignoring all others.

Another thing is inherited professions like a barber's son would have to be a barber and a business man son's must look after his family business. Come on this is really stupid ever body has its wish and desires. I have a suggestion thatrepparttar 107108 parents should let their children decide what is good or bad for themselves and ifrepparttar 107109 parents have some reservations about it then they must discuss it with their kids and take them in confidence over it so they may not feel that they are living in hell.

I am a Software Engineer and thank God my parent allowed me for this occupation after a nice conservation my Dad open heartedly agreed.
