VoIP Phone Hype.....PhooeyWritten by Michael Lemm

Finally, there is placing of calls to standard phones. This is where PSTN gateway comes into play. Now what parts of total technical aspects will your service control? This is where hype goes away and critical thinking comes into play. Don't believe because many of us here have technical experience we lack business sense. Or vice versa. The second issue is just how is revenue stream divided between delivery costs, marketing, administration, and sales points? What are volumes required for a breakeven scenario? What is estimated market cap? Does promised opportunity stand up to critical analysis of business plan? Is capital sufficient to reach breakeven revenue streams? Are processes in place to deal with service problems even if problem is outside of your control, in order to retain good will in market space? Many of us are interested in a logical analysis of both business and technical aspects. Just don't try blowing preverbial "smoke up our butt". Whew....I think I'll get a cold drink now.

I suggest when dealing with a larger pipe you consider larger Tier1 providers. You can still get a great price even though it's not as low as some of Tier 2 and Tier 3 companies. You'll also have peace of mind knowing that you have an SLA and company will deliver what you believe you will get. If you're in market of a DS3, communications are vital to your company. Make sure you get both a reliable product and price you're looking for. If you need help finding such a service, consider speaking with broker who is knowledgable of providers available in your area.
