With an acoustic piano, you're basically limited to one piano sound. Digital pianos come with several sounds, giving you so much variety. Sounds range from several piano voices to organs, vibraphones, guitars, harpsichord, strings, bass, and more.

6. They have MIDI capabilities.

Most digital pianos can be connected to a computer through a MIDI interface. MIDI allows you to interact with other electronic music devices. In this technological age, this feature is becoming increasingly necessary, and digital pianos and keyboards are being used to control large MIDI and recording set-ups.

There are several other advantages of having a digital piano such as:

- The ability to record your performance

What are drawbacks?

Digital piano manufacturers are getting better and better at duplicating tone of real acoustic pianos. But no matter how well piano sound is sampled, it will always sound digital. The acoustic sound is far superior to that of a digital piano.

But for reasons stated above, I'd buy a digital piano any day.

Now pull string over bridge, over nut of neck, and up past tuning peg. Make sure it isn't slack. The new string is very long so you will have to cut some of it off. Leave enough string for a few winds around tuning peg. Two inches above peg should work.

Pull string through hole of tuning peg and begin winding it. The string shouldn't be slack. To keep tension, place your fingers under string. With guitar facing you, wind tuning pegs on left side clockwise. Wind those on right side anticlockwise.

To speed up winding process, place your string winder over tuning peg and wind until string becomes tight. Then take off peg winder and use tuning peg to tune string.

Now that you've changed and tuned your 6th string, you can just repeat process for all other strings.

Breaking in.

Since strings are new, they can stretch and go out of tune easily. They need to break in. You can speed up breaking in process by stretching string yourself. Give strings a few gentle pulls or do some spirited strumming.

You will find yourself having to tune your guitar quite a bit after replacing your strings. But after one or two days everything should be okay.
