Review your site. Does it talk to people or at them? Does it make them feel warm and welcome or does it make them feel like they are little people who should be humbled to be at your site?
Again, do
friend test. Have them read it and tell you what they think.
If your words aren’t speaking to your visitor, change them.
Tip Number 2 – Be yourself.
Write like you are talking to someone sitting directly in front of you. Be yourself and let your words flow. Don’t correct or edit yourself at first. Let your words out write with feeling. You can clean it up later.
What is your style?
Open up your text editor, sit down, and start writing about something that you are interested in. The screen is your best buddy and you are talking to them about whatever it is you feel like writing about.
Be yourself and all will be good.
Tip #3 – Get to
point.
People are in a hurry these days and you only have a few moments to grab their attention and to hold it.
…get to
point right away. Going back to
earlier examples above
second example gets to
point quickly by stating what
visitor is seeking right up front.
“You will find everything you need about...”
---Quick side note-----
One of my favorite books about writing effectively, Make Your Content PREsell by Dr. Ken Evoy goes into great detail about getting to
point and even shows you real life examples of sites that are doing this correctly.

Where was I? Oh yeah…
When visitors arrive at your site they instantly know what’s in it for them. Failing to do give them what they want and quickly will cause people to leave your site as fast as they arrived.
Poof! Like magic they are gone.
If you take
time to learn how to write more effectively you are sure to find more success is lurking around
corner waiting on you.
Remember,
Internet is text based. Words rule this world. Learn how to use them effectively and communicate your unique appeal through them and nothing is out of your reach.
