WHIRLPOOLS form whenrepparttar rushing water hits an obstruction. The water turns around and around, in a swirling motion…. Spinning and out of control. In our lives, repparttar 122951 whirlpools churn us around, suck us in and spit us out. The secret to survivingrepparttar 122952 whirlpools is to relax, let go, and realize we are not in control of many things. Even though we think we will sink atrepparttar 122953 time and never be able to come up for air, we will eventually pop up, just as a leaf that is sucked intorepparttar 122954 whirlpool will pop up.

Reachingrepparttar 122955 calm POOLS isrepparttar 122956 reward. For us,repparttar 122957 pools bring those moments of calm and reflection. This isrepparttar 122958 place for learning and recuperation…. taking a deep breath…. And then moving on.

Atrepparttar 122959 EDDIES,repparttar 122960 water actually turns around and flows upstream alongrepparttar 122961 bank, and then turns around to joinrepparttar 122962 downstream flow. For us,repparttar 122963 eddy isrepparttar 122964 place for reflection; Looking at what is past, learning from it, and moving on.

Inrepparttar 122965 end, repparttar 122966 river, which is now bulging with life, energy, and fullness, joinsrepparttar 122967 sea, contributing all it has gathered alongrepparttar 122968 way. Just like us: we flow, adjust, grow, and bring what we have to something bigger.

REVIVING Once we have our footing, we may start to a makerepparttar climb to new life.

We visualizerepparttar 122950 peak, pick a route, and start to move.

Next we prepare for survival. We must be physically, emotionally, and mentally prepared. Preparation means getting ready to do our best and persist throughrepparttar 122951 tough times ahead. We must lightenrepparttar 122952 load. We are able to travel further and faster if we carry a light load.

Maintaining an adventure attitude helps us persist. Attitude is a personal choice. The adventure attitude looks at mountains as an adventure and opportunity for positive change.

We take risks, and step out of our comfort zone. Finding a new life is all aboutrepparttar 122953 painful stretching that leads to new things.

We take one step at a time to get there. It involves sweat and struggle, but we can travel day-by-day, hour-by-hour, step-by-step and make progress.

We handle obstacles alongrepparttar 122954 way. We know we will always encounter unexpected obstacles alongrepparttar 122955 path. Those challenges make us stronger and teach us many lessons. We get stronger with every obstacle we meet, greet, and defeat.

We throwrepparttar 122956 rope to others. The support and help of friends, family, and strangers we meet alongrepparttar 122957 way helps us attain success.

Thriving As we climb torepparttar 122958 peak, we understandrepparttar 122959 strength we have acquired throughrepparttar 122960 struggle ofrepparttar 122961 climb.

SOARING aboverepparttar 122962 mountain of change, we find that it is our responsibility to sharerepparttar 122963 lessons we have learned to help others. Copyright @ Soaring 2004 by Cheryl Perlitz All rights reserved
