Continued from page 1 •Quaker Potato Sticks. They are shaped like crinkle-cut French fries and come in Sour Cream and Onion or Chili Cheese Flavor. The Chili Cheese Flavor has quite a kick. One serving is 31 sticks and contains 110 calories and 4 grams of fat. •Quaker Corn Rings. These rings can be compared in flavor to Cheetos. The flavors are Cheddar Cheese, Nacho Cheese and BBQ. One serving is 24 rings with 110 calories and 3 grams of fat. I need to make healthy choices everyday to keep my weight where I like it. The 40 pounds that I lost 12 years ago is never far from my mind. Eating is one of my top five most enjoyable experiences in world, with snacking being a large part of calories that I consume daily. The Quakes snacks are loaded with flavor and keep my fat intake under control, even if I do choose to eat more than just one serving. My favorite snack is Sour Cream and Onion potato sticks. I will count out a serving size (31 sticks), put them into a bowl and put bag away. I have found that this will prevent me from eating entire bag.

3.Having “all-or-nothing” way of thinking. Following a diet/binge or feast/famine cycle will cause your body to become more efficient at storing calories and fat. Diets do not work. If you want to lose weight, stop dieting and start listing to what your body is telling you. 4.Combining sugar with fat. The sugar-fat combination is best formula for weight gain. The sugar causes a release of insulin, to lower your blood sugar and practically opens door to your fat cells. By combining fat with sugar in a certain food (i.e. a donut), it will be very easy for your body to store it as fat. I do recommend that you allow yourself treats during your weight loss process, but keep sugar away from fat. If your treat is a slice of cheesecake, alter recipe to make it low fat since it does contain a lot of sugar. If you are eating tortilla chips as a treat, do not drink lemonade with them.
