The Church in Tribulation – Why?Written by Dene McGriff
Continued from page 1 · Speaking of two witnesses, it says, “When they finish their testimony, beast that ascends out of bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.” (Revelation 11:7) · In Revelation 12:11, it says, “And they overcame him by blood of Lamb and by word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to death.” · Revelation 12:17 says, “And dragon was enraged with woman, and he went to make war with rest of her offspring, who keep commandments of God and have testimony of Jesus Christ.” · And finally we find testimony used twice in Revelation 19:10, “And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For testimony of Jesus is spirit of prophecy." Continued from page 1
We need to see clear teaching of Bible on this issue. There is no justification for two raptures. The plain reading of Bible can only bring one to a single conclusion. There is final trumpet, Lord returns in clouds and church meets Him in air. The main argument for pre-trib position is that church is “not appointed to wrath.” (I Thess. 5:9) They are absolutely correct. The problem is that they don’t understand timing of events in Revelation. They also don’t understand that church is always object of wrath of world and “enemy” – although, we agree, never recipient of God’s wrath. Their failure to understand this distinction has led them into systematized error. If you look on Google or go to your local “Christian Bookstore”, you will see hundreds of books on pre-trib rapture. What began as a little seed has grown to a huge tree with hundreds of oblique explanations for this false doctrine. The fact that proponents say there are people saved called “tribulation saints” after church is raptured begs question, why is God allowing them to suffer? What is different between them and me other than timing? Why is this important? Read rest of story at: http://www.the-tribulation-network.com/denemcgriff/rapture_question.htm
