2. Get listed on search engines. This is really important, too. A great website doesn't do you any good if nobody can find it, now does it? This can be a little more expensive, but you'll find it pays off if you do it right. Choose a popular engine or two, and then register key words that you think people who are looking for your type of business might use. Most pay-per-click engines offer a ranking when you submit words so you know where you'll be on list when you pay a certain amount. Try to get top ten listings with at least two of your terms.

3. Use Autoresponders to get in touch with prospective clients. Have a place on your website where interested customers can enter their email addresses. Then have an autoresponder service send out one, three, or even seven follow-up mailers. This is a great way to bring in people who can't quite make up their minds. There are lots of great sites that are cheap or even free that offer this service as well. Again, do a search and pick one that works best for you.

This combination of website, search engine listing, and autoresponder has worked great for me. My business is booming now, and I couldn't be happier. Give it a try and I bet it will work for you.

OK, so now you can see power of writing articles as a method of generating traffic to your website. How heck do you find other people to publish your work? Thanks to fact that so many publishers out there don't have time or (so they believe) ability to write their own articles, or are looking for articles to supplement their own, you have a ready-made market of thousands of publishers who are always on lookout for quality content to present to their readers. You just have to find them.

When submitting your articles to above websites, be sensitive to types of articles site is looking for. Some accept articles on any subject under sun, others are looking for articles on specific subjects such as internet marketing, for example.

Over time, you will be able to add to this list. If submitting to individual ezine publishers, don't be surprised or offended if you don't receive a response. Most ezine publishers of any size receive dozens of article submissions a day. Time normally doesn't permit a response to each submission. Also, try and find out from publisher whether they even accept article submissions. Many don't (me, for example). I receive many article submissions a day which just get deleted unread.

The point is, just work up your own list, write articles consistently and submit consistently. Over time, you'll develop your own style of writing and attract a following.

Although it may be slow to start, you'll start getting a trickle of new traffic from people who have come across your article somewhere, some place and were interested enough to click on link in your resource box. Over time, that trickle will become a stream, then a river, and then a flood.
