Planning a large wedding, small picnic, or just stealing a little naptime? The expansive grounds at Gold Mountain Manor are perfect place for all of these options. Above: The den, complete with pool table and beautiful forest views. Below: The living room with comfy couch, piano and desk. Indoors, it's much easier than breaking your back panning for gold to find a number of places amid 6,000 square foot log cabin for relaxation and romance. Throughout, you will spy bird's eye maple floors and exposed beamed ceilings and numerous period antiques to cozy up to and nosh on a warm, freshly baked cookie, no matter what season of year. In living room, a Kimball player piano caught my eye and required further investigation after I read guest books filled with lavish praises. Creaking wood floors, comfy overstuffed chairs and lodge décor invites guests to make ones self at home in what I'd certainly call "the real thing." Soak in atmosphere, watch large screen television, or test your luck on their antique nickel slot machine, but large game room is perfect for relaxing after a day laboring in gold mine, hiking, or skiing on nearby slopes. Warm your bones by one of many real wood-burning fireplaces, either in game room, your own suite, or in antique filled living room. In your room, therapeutic aromatherapy milk baths built for two are perfect place to share a bottle of champagne with that special someone, as bubbles float around your luxury suite. It's a guarantee that no matter where you go throughout Gold Mountain Manor, a flock of charming antique bird houses or lit accent candles will easily be found. It's no rumor; some birdcages even have captive monkeys, so see if you can find them while soothing music is piped through hidden speakers in public areas tantalizing your ears. We checked into magnificent Barcelona suite, located on top floor of three-story inn. This majestic two-room suite offers a private entrance to rooftop patio, romantic gas fireplace, and two flat-screen televisions. Fine imported Italian Anichini sheets and bedding, plush goose down pillows and comforter, and a rich mahogany and gold damask duvet create ultimate in luxurious comfort. Every suite flaunts highest quality extravagant fabrics, 400 thread-count Egyptian cotton duvet covers and 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheeting, all by Anichini, directly imported from Milan, Italy. In Barcelona rooftop suite, fine Anichini Italian linens and stunning Marengo gold and mahogany damask duvet were not only beautiful but provided a deeply restful night's sleep. The regal, solid king-sized bed and euphoric comfort it provided was crowning highlight of this majestic bed and breakfast experience. Simply heavenly. According to Kristina Doliszny, guests frequently ask about purchasing Anichini bed sheets, which were imported from Italy. When Kristina inquired about retail prices for her guests, she was surprised to learn they would cost a whopping $1,100 a set. While it's not feasible to offer them to guests at those prices, innkeepers are proud to pamper their clients with this luxurious European treat during their stay. A full gourmet breakfast is served in dining room at 9:00 a.m. Guests may enjoy their breakfast inside or on Honduran mahogany covered verandah. At our breakfast, delicious scrambled eggs, breakfast sandwiches, and sausages were presented in elegant silver pans. Fresh juices, breads, bagels, and fruit were also available. Afternoon tea and snacks are served in dining room. The tasty afternoon spread included biscotti, muffins, chewy chocolate chip cookies, milk, and teas.
