Take No Thought For Your Life

I encourage you to read Mathew 6:19-34 where Jesus is saying, “Take no thought for your life.” Ask God to make it alive to you so that you may fully grasp this portion of scripture. You are meant to be free of stress, reasoning, worry and everything else that weighs you down.

You don’t have to struggle, worry, try to figure everything out, and try to make things happen. God wants us to dwell in His secret place and abide under His shadow (Psalm 91:1) and cast all of our care upon Him, for He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7) He is our Heavenly Father who wants to take care of His children.

“You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)

Tsunamis in the Bible?

Written by Thomas Yoon

Continued from page 1

Was it possible that 4 thousand years ago, something like this happened?

I have never seen such destructive forces at work before. Houses, people and buildings were swept out ofrepparttar way like match sticks. It's so swift and sudden. It brought to mindrepparttar 126659 words Jesus Christ spoke, "On that night, I tell you, there will be two people sleeping inrepparttar 126660 same bed: one will be taken away, repparttar 126661 other will be left behind. Two women will be grinding meal together: one will be taken away, repparttar 126662 other will be left behind" (Luke 17:34-35). This sobering passage was referring torepparttar 126663 final days ofrepparttar 126664 coming ofrepparttar 126665 Kingdom. But it does dawn on me that nothing is impossible with God. It's only we who do not believe such a thing can happen.

This tsunami event left a lasting impression on me to never underestimaterepparttar 126666 power of God. The bible is so full of such events, God bringing in locust, bees, flies, plaque and many other natural phenomenons to show His power. The story of how Gideon with his 300 men defeating 120,000 enemies, and many other stories tell us that seemingly unimportant people led byrepparttar 126667 power of God was able to conquer impossible odds.

Actually it does not matter to me anymore whether a tsunami really partedrepparttar 126668 Red Sea or not although I wonder how it happened. It does not matter to me anymore howrepparttar 126669 sun is able to shine, howrepparttar 126670 weather behaves, howrepparttar 126671 many different species of plants and animals come to inhabitrepparttar 126672 earth. Howrepparttar 126673 minute cells of living things are able to grow... The wonders of God are really too much to comprehend. It's simply awesome!

But there is something I do know. The bible is God's chosen medium of communication with humans. In every situation of our lives, God is able to communicate with us if only we allow Him to.

Unfortunately, many people find it difficult or boring to readrepparttar 126674 bible. They are missing a lot in their lives.

How can we encourage them? The book of Proverbs provides wisdom on right living. Our compilation of "50 Secrets of Truth and Life" might help. Done in pictorial form, it is a lighthearted way of looking atrepparttar 126675 Bible Proverbs. Perhaps that might open our hearts...
