TIME MANAGEMENT? NO!Written by Dr. Dorene Lehavi
Continued from page 1 3) ENERGY AND TIME Know and honor your energy levels. Are you a morning person, do you have an afternoon slump? Your time will be best used if you pace tasks you have to do based on this knowledge. Do most challenging at your peak energy time. Build in your Joy Breaks (see last month's newsletter) both as rewards for finishing a formidable task and to refresh yourself at low energy periods. 4) FOCUS IN THE MOMENT Develop habits that help you focus on what you are doing in moment. Do not allow yourself to think of what you have to do next while you are doing what you are doing. Put a "do not disturb" sign on your door and do not take phone calls. By putting everything else out of your mind while focusing on task at hand, you will be using your time efficiently. If you get stuck on something, take a break. Move to something else, get information you need to continue, change scenery, stretch, whatever it takes, but don't sit there stuck. Note: The suggestions I make are not one dimensional or simple. The questions I suggest you ask yourself have multiple answers and may be different on different days. I suggest you keep them all in a file or notebook and refer back to them regularly. You will gain a lot if you do.

There is One National GPO for Small Business That is FREE! The Hospitality Buying Group, www.hospitality-buying-group.com, is a national buying group for any small & medium size business that has a totally FREE lifetime membership. Unlike all other GPOs, Hospitality Buying Group does not charge their vendors any fees or commissions on purchases made by their members. Don't let name fool you! The focus of this GPO started in hospitality industry, but so many non-hospitality vendors started participating in this GPO that any small business would be able to use any number of hospitality buying group vendors. Members have total freedom of using GPO vendors or using their own vendors. The founder of this buying group was committee chairman for a health care GPO for six years. This GPO is a value-added service for customers of several GPO vendors. To get a FREE lifetime membership to Hospitality Buying Group all you need to do is email customer service at questions@hospitality-buying-group.com and tell them you are considering becoming a customer of DHL Shipping Services or CFOToday Payroll Services. Provide your name, company name, street address, phone number and fax number in email and you will be added to Hospitality Buying Group database. You can then immediately start contacting Hospitality Buying Group vendors of your choice and get access to GPO discounts. When selecting a GPO consider cost of membership, vendor selection, how long they have been in business, and if you are forced to use their vendors. For small and medium size businesses Hospitality Buying Group is a good no risk approach to get familiar with a GPO.
