Here, you can exchange links with related-content sites and you will be notified when a certain website is no longer exist.

Another way to get those links is by buying text links. Or, if you want free technique, you can always post some articles and comments in online forums containing your site's URL in signature.

This is important because PR is one of many factors that Google takes into account when ranking websites.

If you want to find out your site's PR (and others' too), you must download and install Google's Toolbar to your browser. Go here to download toolbar for free:

After installation, then you will see a small white and green bar. That is Page Rank indicator. If you run your mouse pointer over it, you can see PR of current page you are opening. A PR of 6 is considered good for a website.
