The program is self funding, men fromrepparttar church donatingrepparttar 126819 food. There is a $10 donation forrepparttar 126820 event. They bring a speaker in to make a 30 - 45 minute presentation... they do not use this as a hard sell “bring men to Jesus” event. The idea is to break down walls of defensiveness... usingrepparttar 126821 common bond ofrepparttar 126822 outdoors to connect with men atrepparttar 126823 heart level... start building relationships.

“This is a whole day event forrepparttar 126824 guys involved. We start grilling around noon... we cook up some exotic stuff duringrepparttar 126825 day. We have guys dropping by all day long to taste and enjoyrepparttar 126826 atmosphere. Then we serverepparttar 126827 meal at 6:30pm and our speaker comes on at 7:15” Ralph stated. Last yearrepparttar 126828 speaker was Steve Chapman. He really has a way of touching men's hearts. He uses music, story tellin' and humor... weaving Truth intorepparttar 126829 fabric ofrepparttar 126830 presentation.” Ralph said.

You can just emaginerepparttar 126831 clean up job after an event like this. Steve “Rambo” Moore, does an incredible job managing this aspect ofrepparttar 126832 event... “We don't call him “Rambo” for nothing!” chuckled Swallows.

Afterrepparttar 126833 Wild Game Feed they follow up throughrepparttar 126834 year, with regular scheduled events like target shooting, fishing, 3D archery shoots and such to keep men engaged and continue to build community. “What started out as an event, has turned into a full fledged ministry of Southeast Christian Church... We knew this was going to be successful... but quite frankly, repparttar 126835 leaders ofrepparttar 126836 Church were amazed at how many men have come out ofrepparttar 126837 woodwork and become involved.” Ralph said.

Christian Outdoorsman hopes this will give you some ideas about how to host a successful Wild Game Feed at your church and maybe even start a ministry... and remember if you do this... your wife won't mind you “huntin' forrepparttar 126838 Lord” this year!

God's Great Outdoors... brings out the real man inside

Have you ever watched a dog that is chained up or stuck in a house? All he does is lay around and sleep. He's depressed! But you let him off that chain... give him some room to roam... he's running and tracking critters down! Just like ol' Riley is happy chasing after a couple deer or coyotes... doing things he was created by God to do... (He sure wasn't created to be cooped-up in a house inrepparttar burbs...) Men are happiest when they are outdoors... workin', sweatin', freezin', and gettin' rained on... you know what I mean. And we're really happy whenrepparttar 126818 girls bring outrepparttar 126819 refreshments, and make such a big fuss over their hard working men. There is something aboutrepparttar 126820 corporate America scene that robs a man of his manhood. His hands get soft... He doesn't get out inrepparttar 126821 fresh air... He's away from his family...repparttar 126822 wife he loves and his dear children. Men, I guess that's one reason why I have such a passion forrepparttar 126823 outdoors. It's more thanrepparttar 126824 hunting. It's more thanrepparttar 126825 fishing. It's about getting outdoors, withrepparttar 126826 ones you love, and feeling like a real man.
