Orlando Accommodation - Vacation RentalsWritten by Andrew P Moore
Continued from page 1 ambience of place, it just makes it that much more difficult to leave at end of your holiday. We remember our first stay in a Villa, our memories are more than fond. From minute you walk through front door, you realise this is just start. How you laugh at yourself for staying in those what now seem inadequate hotels and just wish you had found somewhere like this years earlier. One of greatest feelings you get is feeling of being at home, kids being able to get away from under your feet and go amuse themselves playing with things they have just bought. One of things we have always looked forward to is to be able to have a leisurely meal without having pressure of having to move on, renting your own home gives you this freedom. By Pool, in Nook or more formal at Dining Room table. How American this all is. From second you pull on to drive, you get sense of being home. No waiting for bathroom when you are all getting ready to go to parks for day, get up, jump in your own shower, dressed and you’re away. Luxury Furnishings just add that finishing touch, but it gets better, pool is cleaned by your very own pool guy, garden tended to by your very own gardener! What? That’s true, you may be living like an American, but you don’t have to work like one. Where else can you enjoy a dip in pool in privacy of your own villa? Certainly not in an hotel, shared by other guests! Dining on Lanai just adds to experience, enclosed Pool Screen stops you having to share your food with others. I could just go on and on…… All I can say is next time, Try it for yourself. It’s a World’s apart from staying in hotels you are used to. http://www.orlandovillas4u.co.uk

Most visitors spend their time in independent Samoa, which is considerably bigger and less expensive than American Samoa. However rugged scenic beauty of Tutuila, main island of American Samoa, should not be missed. In recent years some of most strikingly beautiful parts of territory have been incorporated into American Samoa National Park. There's great hiking on Tutuila and wonderful snorkeling on Ofu in seldom visited Manua Group. Traditional Samoan culture is largely based on oratory, and it's no accident that several literary legends originated here. Robert Louis Stevenson spent last five years of his life in Samoa and is buried on a hilltop above Apia, capital. His mansion is now a museum dedicated to author. Somerset Maugham's short story "Rain" about Sadie Thompson and repressed missionary thrown together in a guesthouse at Pago Pago, American Samoa, has been adapted by Hollywood several times. The original guesthouse still exists, now an upscale restaurant and inn. In "Tales of South Pacific," James A. Michener based prototype of his character Bloody Mary on an Apia hotelkeeper named Aggie Grey, whose family still operates Samoa's largest resorts. Michener's book was later made into musical "South Pacific." Getting to Samoa is easy with direct flights from Hawaii and Los Angeles on Hawaiian Airlines, Polynesian Airlines, and Air New Zealand. Local ferries and small commuter planes ply frequently between islands, and getting around by public bus or rental car is no challenge. Visas are not required by most visitors for entry to either Samoa, although a passport and onward plane ticket are mandatory.

David Stanley is the author of Moon Handbooks South Pacific http://www.southpacific.org/pacific.html which has a chapter on Samoa. His online guide to Samoa may be perused at http://www.southpacific.org/text/upolu.html
