They can and do intervene only when there is a need to modify certain experiences to make them bearable so that we can make it through life without failing completely to reach our goals.

If you think you have never received any help from your spirit guide, question is: Are you absolutely sure? Our guides, along with other cosmic forces, have infinite but often unobvious ways of delivering assistance, knowledge, and information to us.

For example, say you’ve spent time and effort planning a trip but because of a feeling of unease, or because something unexpectedly comes up that interferes with your plan, or for no reason that is apparent to you, you cancel it. Because you did not take trip, it is easy to not even consider what might have happened had you taken it. It is quite possible that something was at work making sure trip never took place – for your own life and safety. That something could well be your spirit guide.

How about that sudden idea or surge of inspiration that led you to solution for a problem? Yes, idea or inspiration came to you, but where did it come from? As I stated earlier, cosmic forces, including your guide, have infinite ways of transmitting information.

A thought may have come to you, but it may have originated someplace else. In case of finding an answer to a problem, it is most likely that your guide transmitted some information that guided you to a solution. If you petitioned or prayed for help, your guide may have been consulted or asked to respond.

If you petitioned for help using techniques discussed in my book Seeds of Luck: The ABCs of Creating Your Heart’s Desires, your guide may have been one of recipients of petition since it was not directed to a particular entity or deity. Again, once our problems are solved, it is easy to take solutions for granted and not think about their source.

Perhaps you remember a time you were distracted and pulled in a certain direction only to discover later that had you not been distracted and led away, you would have been exposed to danger.

If you are at bottom of economic ladder, one of so-called less fortunate among us, it may seem that you cannot lift yourself up financially no matter what you do. You may wonder if you have a guide and why he or she has not helped you achieve some financial success.

I suspect that you already know part of answer to this question. Financial success may be important to you now, but it wasn’t that important to you on other side when you chose your goal, with perfect knowledge and information at your disposal. Your guide knows this. How can you learn what it is like to do without things you long for unless you experience doing without? How else can you learn what it feels like to sleep in cold or go hungry without experiencing it? And remember earlier discussion about cosmic responsibilities. By now you should be convinced that no matter what your circumstances, you are no less valued or important than a billionaire.

We’re all on different paths. You may have already experienced a life of wealth and plenty in past and decided to use this incarnation to learn about existence at other end, filled with wants and extreme financial hardship.

You have chosen to have specific experiences in this life, to reach a specific goal. These experiences are always for your good. Perhaps attaining financial success in this life would cause you to deviate from path you’re supposed to be on through this life. It is part of your guide’s responsibility to ensure that you remain on your path, even if it means guiding you away from financial freedom. Isn’t that reason for having a guide, someone objective enough to help you stay on path you’ve chosen for yourself? Be assured that your guide is working hard to prevent you from deviating from goal you’ve chosen for this incarnation.

So next time a great idea comes to you or you achieve success, no matter what represents success to you, don’t take all credit. It may not be entirely of your own making. Show your gratitude by using some of that success to help others.
