Nathalie Gervais presented her last collection in fall of 2001. In 2002 American designer James Aguiar became chief designer, designing for two seasons During Parish Fashion Week October 2003 Lars Nilsson a Swedish designer showed his first Nina Ricci collection for following spring. He again presented Ricci collection in Paris during Fashion Week in March 2004. Lars said that he wanted to add some substance to a younger woman's wardrobe. His collection was mostly flimsy dresses, stylish sweaters and skits with in fresh in yellow, blue and orange colors. He was distinguished by his fresh Swedish outerware. Lars is very quickly transforming old couture house into a young woman's world, enticing a new younger clientele. Sleek jackets, cropped sleeves, tiered skirts, and dainty party dresses have all been added. In March 2005 Lars Nillson once again showed collection for house of Nina Ricci at Paris Fashion Week. Soft and feminine dresses as light as lingerie mixed with fur jackets for cold. There was also an addition of renaissance sleeves, long tweed jackets, and sporty jackets . However collection still mainly consisted of soft piece - fragile blouse with lace, feminine evening gowns, and strapless satin evening dresses. Beautiful flower prints symbolic of Nina Ricci house were seen ranging from tree of life to autumn leaves revealing of his Swedish background. The 2005 spring collection reads like a revamped modern fairy tale! Nina Ricci would be proud!

Kate and Laura wrote a letter to vintage guru Cameron Silver charming him with their 10 piece Rodarte collection. He invited them to set up shop during L.A. Fashion Week at Decades. Even without formal training, it is very apparent that this sister act has a sense of style and design as their small Rodarte collection quickly gains momentum. Their line will soon be found in some of countries best boutiques. LA’s Satine, Houston’s Mix, Chicago’s Ikram, New York’s Kirna Zabette. They’ve even managed a private showing for Vogue’s Anna Wintour. The collection ranges from $1300 to $2000 in price. It’s themed around romantic west, nature, and their personal family linage. Their black wool crepe bodice dress is an all time favorite. Made from strips of stiff fabric resembling tree trunks, with a delicate flowing skirt. The Earhart coat is a one pocket trench coat, and their military coat is black double faced wool accented with a thin row of pheasant feathers. How much closer to nature can you get? Their fast growing recognition has people wondering who they know. The reality is they haven’t made their debut because of who they know. They’ve come to be on talent and goodwill of fashion industry. Their current collection is exactly what stylish women want to wear. Their talent is excellent, there genuine about wanting to design and their personalities are drawing. It will be interesting to see where these girls are in a few years.
