The Fifth Effect… This effect is a brand new version that can be used to create a time lapse effect by averaging frames. The end result is an image that looks like it had a long exposure time.

The Best Effect… The best thing about plug-in is that interface allows you to apply effects quickly for various results. For After Effects users, each time they apply an effect, effect controls appear in interface.

However, with Final Cut Pro or discreet Combustion, all of controls are visible regardless of user's application of effect or not. This can be confusing on Combustion interface where one must go through several pages looking for controls for effect. Also, separation among effect controls is not well marked.

Clearly, Au Naturel may not be a must-have application. Nevertheless, at $99 for both Mac and Windows, it is a good buy.

It is a fact that all works of an employed designer belongs to employer. Freelancers on other hand own their work all except when they have signed a work-for-hire contract or they are under a non-disclosure agreement with their employer. Since digital portfolios will be in transit and distributed, copyright constraints will enter picture. And employers most likely will not want their “property” have unauthorized copies circulating. Like many other things, this can be resolved through planning ahead.

Negotiate beforehand with your prospective employer you having a right to show your work to other people without necessarily having to own it. This will clear things and help you avoid legal hassles in future. Make a good arrangement to settle all areas that may be unclear. Make room for contingency plans and be ready to execute them if need arise. Opportunity comes to those who are prepared and it will knock not only once if you are listening.
