Baseball and softball have been a large part of my life. Writing this e-zine about my daughter has been a pleasure. She has made her dad proud. I feel like I am glowing inside when I watch her play. I feel like I amrepparttar luckiest father on earth. My fantasy baseball story has come to reality through my daughter. I wanted one of my children to excel in baseball. She isrepparttar 134846 one that has carriedrepparttar 134847 ball and bat. She may or may not want to continue her career after High School. That is up to her. But for now I am able to watch, admire and feel proud. I have admired Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Willie Mays and Derek Jeter to name a few of players that impressed me. My daughter has tied Derek Jeter as one of my all time favorites. They are both on my top ten list.

Power Personified – With Massive Arms

Smacking a softball was where Gillie excelled. His shots were legendary. He was one of a handful that hitrepparttar ball overrepparttar 134845 right field fence. The fence was 270 – 280 feet away and climbed 40 feet high. He wasrepparttar 134846 only person I ever saw that hit a ball that soared over that fence onto Goldsmith Avenue. His hits seemed to gain height as they clearedrepparttar 134847 fence.

For me, Gillie always represented strength, dedication and just being a real good guy. He never used his size and strength to put others down. It was his way of building himself up.
