"My, What Big 'I's' You Have!"

We live in troubled times. We cannot ignorerepparttar sorrow around us. We must be likerepparttar 126869 Good Samaritan, if we would follow Christ.

We cannot turn our eyes inward to see what we would like to have—we must rather open our eyes outward, to see what they MUST have to live.

We must indeed have big eyes—big to see, and big with compassionate tears. We must indeed have big I's—I can do this little bit to help; I can do that little bit to help, and I will do what I can. Thus will our I's serve us.

I pray that our returning Lord will not find us "seeing, but perceiving not"repparttar 126870 need around us. I pray that our returning Lord will not find us sulking in a fit of gloom because our pride is hurt. I pray that as we turn to others to share His love and bounty, we will find such peace that our eyes will see His face in all we help.

"Even so, come, Lord Jesus" — but until You do, we shall do what You would have us do.

Let us do all we can, as we can, and pray that others will join us as we do.

IN LONELY DESPAIR

And He shared them to a depth we cannot fathom, for when He prayed alone in Gethsemane's garden, He knew Golgotha wasrepparttar cup to come.

What joy, what bitter joy is ours - this knowing that our lonely, tear-drenched path was trod by Christ! What joy, what fearsome joy is ours - this knowing our despair will draw us closer to His side! And what infinite bliss is ours, to know we can leave this blackened robe beneath His cross and walk in His bright fellowship, to glory, when oncerepparttar 126868 Spirit's cleansing work is done.

You see, through Christ we learn that our despair isrepparttar 126869 outward sign ofrepparttar 126870 workings ofrepparttar 126871 Holy Spirit, purging our souls of dross. Our black despair isrepparttar 126872 billowing smoke arising fromrepparttar 126873 roaring flames ofrepparttar 126874 Spirit within us... and even now, although we cannot see Him, we lie in safety inrepparttar 126875 crucible of His all-consuming love.

With that assurance, we joy in our despair!
