Fortunately, temporal lobes can be directly stimulated to improve memory. One treatment modality used to improve memory is olfactory stimulation (smelling different smells such at peppermint or cloves). Olfactory stimulation in one or both nostrils will directly stimulate temporal lobe (more specifically, hippocampus). Auditory stimulation in one ear or visual stimulation on one side can also improve temporal lobe plasticity (function). Looking at familiar faces will stimulate left amygdala area deep in temporal lobe, while looking at unfamiliar faces will stimulate right amygdala area. Other modalities which may be used to increase global brain function include T.E.N.S., word searches, mazes, looking at big letters made of small letters, or viewing familiar or unfamiliar faces.

Collagen fibers develop quickly to form an organic mesh, or net, that calcium, phosphorus and numerous other minerals attach to. Over a period of days and weeks (and through a crystallization process involving substitution and addition of various minerals) mixture of different minerals attaching to this organic net changes, producing finished product called hydroxyapatite crystals. These hydroxyapatite crystals are what makes bone so hard. It is easy to appreciate that bone is much more than just calcium.
