*swimming parties ( if you own a pool or are in a community with access to one) *watch sports - basketball, Olympics, Super-Bowl, World Series, etc. *have dances (furniture can be pushed aside for a few hours) *study groups (it can make homework more fun as long as it IS being done!) *holidays - N. Year's Eve, Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc. *dinners - (how about sharing your family dinner with a friend once in awhile?)

Be available not only to welcome your child's peers in your home, but to get to know their parents as well. The price to pay for a fuller and noiser house, sometimes, is well worthrepparttar knowledge and tools it will equip you with in guiding your growing child into a safe and trustworthy adult.

Keeping In Touch With Grandparents

*Record cassettes or video tapes, and send them back and forth. Your kids can sing their favorite songs and read their favorite stories.

*Let your children memorize their grandparents' phone #. Let it berepparttar one number they can call anytime without permission.

*Send pieces of art, school work and drawings.

*Grandma and Grandpa can have a special bond with your kids by sending them care packages every once in awhile. They can include mementos, educational tools and maybe a treat.

If you help cultivate a relationship like this, your children can learn valuable family morals and traditions. Not to mention wisdom! Don't deprive them from an important bond, just because they live in separate places. They just might carryrepparttar 111595 tradition on to their own grandchildren!
