The history of Western art is very largelyrepparttar history of Christian art, so anyone who loves art can benefit from time spent withrepparttar 138053 masterpieces of Leonardo Da Vinci, Fra Angelica, and so many other great painters and sculptors.

Since there is such an abundance of art, and since we are fortunate to live in an era when high-quality color printing makes books, prints, and posters affordable, we can enjoy as much Christian art as we wish.

One way to live with your favorite Christian art is to have one or more Christian posters in your home. If you happen to have a place of quiet retreat, whether it's a special room or a spot in your living room or bedroom, a Christian poster onrepparttar 138054 wall might be justrepparttar 138055 thing.

Joseph of Arimathaea - Part Two:

Written by Robert Bruce Baird

Continued from page 1

He was wealthy enough to have had at least two residences: a country place inrepparttar cool mountains around Magdala… and a 'town house' inrepparttar 138052 capital, inrepparttar 138053 wealthy Jerusalem suburb of Bethany… Is there any evidence to support such a speculation? Yes, there is. Joseph was 'of Arimathaea'. Where was that? According torepparttar 138054 Biblical authorities who composedrepparttar 138055 'Helps torepparttar 138056 Study ofrepparttar 138057 Bible' found as an appendix torepparttar 138058 standard Oxford Press edition ofrepparttar 138059 King James version,repparttar 138060 derivation of 'Arimathaea' is not known, but it wasrepparttar 138061 same place as 'Ramah'. 'Ramah' means a 'high place' and it is listed as one ofrepparttar 138062 fourteen cities with their villages' that was allotted torepparttar 138063 Tribe of Benjamin. Part of this passage has already been quoted (Joshua 18:21-28). Joseph of Arimathaea was, therefore, a Benjaminite... might 'Arimathaea' once have been 'Almathea' or 'Alimathaea'?

There was a sub-tribe of that name in ancient Palestine, or at least there was a group who called themselvesrepparttar 138064 'sons' of a goddess variously named Alimathae, Almathae, Amalthea or Amathea. This generally means that a group counted their descent from some matriarch ofrepparttar 138065 name. It is known that some tribes of ancient Palestine did have a matrilinear succession.

{This is a good reason to say they weren't inclined towardrepparttar 138066 patristic Abrahamic style ofrepparttar 138067 Chaldeans and more influenced byrepparttar 138068 Keltic/Phoenician and earlier great and real force ofrepparttar 138069 Mediterranean that founded Egypt underrepparttar 138070 guidance of a woman - Isis. I also think this was part ofrepparttar 138071 corporate trading monopolies and a way to ensure fewer blue bloods, because men can sow their wild oats among far more less than select or chosen people.}

At any rate, Robert Graves informs us that these people of Alimathea or Amalthea lived inrepparttar 138072 neighborhood of Mount Tabor in Galilee. (9) The town of Ramah is onrepparttar 138073 shoulders of Mount Tabor which, indeed, is a 'high place'. The towns of Magdala, Cana and Nazareth, and Mary Magdalene, from Magdala, came fromrepparttar 138074 same area onrepparttar 138075 shoulders of Mount Tabor. The towns of Nazareth, Cana and Magdala are within ten miles of each other.

Interestingly enough, these Amaltheans seem to have been of Phoenician and 'proto-Celtic' stock. At least some of them joinedrepparttar 138076 long westward migration ofrepparttar 138077 Celtiberians and 'Celts' and ended up in Wales, Cornwall and Somerset.

Which is to say they ended up around Glastonbury. But they did this long before Joseph 'of Arimathaea' arrived. One could say, in fact, that some powerful Celtic families of Ancient Britain were Joseph of Arimathaea's long-lost relations." (10)

'Long-lost' would be incorrect. It was a common practice amongstrepparttar 138078 Kelts to send their children to relatives in far away places. It solidified trading relationships, enhanced ecumenicism and brotherhood, reduced nepotism and early life blackmail against parents; is imitated inrepparttar 138079 North American Indian traditions; and may include Jesus learning from and living inrepparttar 138080 Cornwall area in early life. There are even stories of him having been inrepparttar 138081 Mayan lands whererepparttar 138082 Essenes have one of their few locations inrepparttar 138083 world.

The issue of historicity and women's role inrepparttar 138084 church is covered by Mary Rose D'Angelo in Vatican II. The position Jesus had towards women was favourable but his group were not politically un-initiated. Ifrepparttar 138085 Catholic 'churchians' who usurped Jesus and his teachings were to admit he married and had a woman for an equal - MUCH OF THEIR DOGMA would have very 'weak and shifting sand' beneath it. Butrepparttar 138086 Merovingians and De Medici’s women were not made second class at all. They rule just likerepparttar 138087 Iroquois matriarchs and Rose Kennedy.

Of course it took some time to re-create this new belief and infiltrate it with their own brand of manipulation. In addition this belief system was around a very long time before Jesus. Thus it was necessary to make Jesus become something he never claimed he was - 'the 'Chriost' or a true Divine Messiah. The Jews knew better and had to be blamed for 'Killing our Saviour'! This part of history should need no further discussion to prove its import and impact on our future. Jesus said 'We are ALLrepparttar 138088 children of God'.
