Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is gift of God. For he shall not much remember days of his life; because God answereth him in joy of his heart.
Better is end of a thing than beginning thereof: and patient in spirit is better than proud in spirit.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in grave, whither thou goest.
Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness! Cast thy bread upon waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon earth. If clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon earth: and if tree fall toward south, or toward north, in place where tree falleth, there it shall be.
In morning sow thy seed, and in evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.
Truly light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for eyes to behold sun.
And moreover, because preacher was wise, he still taught people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
Let us hear conclusion of whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
