Besides removing outdated material, you should regularly put new content on your site.

This can be done easily by putting up new articles, news related torepparttar topic of your website, contests and anything else that will keep people coming back to your site.

Putting articles on your site is an excellent way to keep it current. These articles can also be a great way to promote your business. There are sites onrepparttar 132629 Internet where people go to get articles to use in their ezine or on their sites. Placing your articles on one of these content sources can be great promotion for you. Create a good, and short, promotional paragraph to go atrepparttar 132630 end of your article telling readers who you are and what your business is about and be sure it includes your website address. These are also great places to find content if you can't write, or just don't haverepparttar 132631 time.

Some ofrepparttar 132632 content sites I use are: Ideamarketers - http://www.ideamarketers.com/ GoArticles - http://goarticles.com/ NetterWeb - http://www.netterweb.com/articles/ Author Connection - http://www.AuthorConnection.com/

You can also offer a free online newsletter, just likerepparttar 132633 one you're reading now. A monthly newsletter is best, but even a quarterly one will keep your name in front of your clients and potential clients. Again, just write an article to use inrepparttar 132634 newsletter or use one ofrepparttar 132635 above article sites to find material.

Keeping your site current by removing outdated listings and adding new information will give people a reason to come back often. And with each visit they will be expose to your products and services, which increases your chances of a sale.

 Don't underline anything that isn't a link. It's understood that underlined words on a website are links. So if you have something underlined that's not a link, when someone tries to click onrepparttar word and nothing happens, they will be upset. You don't want visitors to be upset. This happened to me a couple or weeks ago. I felt that ifrepparttar 132627 person didn't know this basic rule, I wouldn't trust him enough to buy anything from him.  Use a font that's easy to read, like Arial. Virtually every computer, both PC and Mac, has Arial onrepparttar 132628 system. So when you design a site using Arial, you know that viewers will see itrepparttar 132629 same way you designed it. Arial is easy to read because it's a Sans Serif font. That means that it doesn't have "feet,"repparttar 132630 little lines atrepparttar 132631 top and bottom ofrepparttar 132632 letters.  Don't use a background that's either too busy or a similar color to your font. This will makerepparttar 132633 text very difficult to read, and visitors will leave quickly. I've seen a black font on a midnight blue background, and a white font on a pale yellow background. They were both so hard to read that I left in less than a minute.

Creating a website that's easy to use and pleasing torepparttar 132634 eye will be a pleasant experience to visitors. This will keep these visitors on your site longer and increaserepparttar 132635 chance that they will buy something from you.
