Star Wars didn't used to be about blood or sabering off limbs. It was something innocent, iconic. That's not to say Revenge of Sith shouldn't be darker. Of all Star Wars films, this is one that should be grittiest, most violent, most disturbed. I'm fine with that. I'm even fine with people being geeked out about lightsaber battles. I just wish that wasn't fandom's entire burning focus. It seems to me that with Star Wars, there used to be more to it than that.

But then perhaps fans are simply grasping on to only thing about Lucas' prequels that hasn't been an utter disappointment. No matter how bad dialogue gets or how boring plot, lightsabers are still cool. There's no screwing up that.

At last! The site loads and you enter eagerly to discover that it contains NOTHING! No cast bios, no plot synopsis, no teasers, no movie stills, NOTHING but a couple of brief blurbs about two main characters and a place to download movie trailer. (2 more hours of waiting...I think now!)

Sadly, this type of official movie site is now rule rather than exception. High tech wonders filled with boatloads of jack crap. I mean is it so much to ask you execs to throw in a picture or two, or an interview, or a .wav file or SOMETHING?

Why should I waste any of my time struggling with your slow loading futuristic bells and whistles when I can go over to Joe Schmo's low tech, fast loading, fan page and get better stuff?

The point is that I shouldn't. And neither should you.
