1. Get ready... set your goal by thinking about something that is really important to you. If you don't have an emotional connection to what you want to do, and feel animated about achieving it, what's
point? Set your goal in
now and
positive to help you visualise what this looks like "I'm running
half marathon...and I'm loving it!"
2. Find yourself a fun way to do it... Why do we set out to sabotage ourselves? Think with confidence about your goal, and what has worked for you in
past, and what you love to do. How can you link this to your goal? For instance - my goal of running is about 2 things - getting outside and also toning up and losing some weight (OK, that's really 3 things!) - but I hate
gym. Therefore - I know that I need to do things to achieve my getting fit/ spending some time outside that help me with this- running, biking, walking...what works for you? 3. Set
goal that works for you - but still feels challenging. If you don't like to run - don't run! If you want to run, but
thought of a marathon or half marathon fills you with horror, don't do it! It isn't about setting
biggest or most "bragworthy" goal, but doing something that you feel excited about, in what ever area works for you 4. Decide on your first step - and do it! Don't procrastinate, don't think about it - just do it (as a well known advertiser says!) Honestly. It's so powerful you'll want to take
next step...and
next... 5. Celebrate! You've just taken
first step on
way to achieving your goal! Celebrate it, share it with a friend, shout it from
rooftops! Love
fact you are on your way!
