Integrating Soul and Science

What with genetics andrepparttar basic building blocks of matter becoming more apparent to researchers who are free of old philosophic rule byrepparttar 122263 church there is truly a dawning of a new age. The title of Prof. Morowitz's article in August of 1980's Psychology Today was quite appropriate - 'Rediscovering The Mind'. As we continue to RE!-discover we might even know what is important 'within' our soul. Of course, my opinion is just 'post-modern democratized' ideology as Prof. Wiseman points out. No one person can know all things. He would be right, if he said that. But my response would be that we must all try to integrate rather than compartmentalize our knowledge. That leads to coping skills and application of thinking processes that produce a net creative improvement rather than agreement from those we 'hang with'! It has been said that there is not much advancement in a civilization which has science separate from its belief system or religion to any great extent. I find a lot of physics in many religious writings throughout time and yet there are still a lot of controlling interests who promote sins and demons in these religions. Here is a little ofrepparttar 122264 Dag or Nag Hammadi papyruses whichrepparttar 122265 Gnostics (later Cathars) saved fromrepparttar 122266 destroying Empire-builders. It is specifically fromrepparttar 122267 Gospel of Mary which was mostly found beforerepparttar 122268 end ofrepparttar 122269 19th Century. “22) The Savior said, All nature, all formations, all creatures exist in and with one another, and they will be resolved again into their own roots. 23) Forrepparttar 122270 nature of matter is resolved intorepparttar 122271 roots of its own nature alone. 24) He who has ears to hear, let him hear. 25) Peter said to him, Since you have explained everything to us, tell us this also: What isrepparttar 122272 sin ofrepparttar 122273 world? 26) The Savior said There is no sin, but it is you who make sin when you dorepparttar 122274 things that are likerepparttar 122275 nature of adultery, which is called sin.” (2) A neuroscience forum which I was invited to has had many people respond to various postings without identifying themselves. I think some of that is because they have a reputation to protect or job they value. Here is one such response to a thread I started. “Science is reductionist whereas mysticism is broadly integrative. It would seem that science and mysticism occupy anti-podal positions. They are both concerned with truth, yet go about it differently. Science seeks to objectively and mathematically describe truth, whereas mysticism seeks to experience truth. Science and mysticism are flip sides ofrepparttar 122276 same coin. The greatest scientists have invariantly been deeply mystical. I'm tempted to say thatrepparttar 122277 greatest mystics have invariantly been deeply scientific, or at least had an appreciation for science, but this I'm less certain of.” I responded by saying I agreed and that I was certainrepparttar 122278 sages or greatest scientists were indeed very spiritual. One of those sages is David Bohm and here is a little of how he approached physics. “In an interview in 1989 atrepparttar 122279 Nils Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, where Bohm presented his views, Bohm spoke on his theory of wholeness andrepparttar 122280 implicate order. The conversation centered around a new worldview that is developing in part ofrepparttar 122281 Western world, one that places more focus on wholeness and process than analysis of separate parts. Bohm explainedrepparttar 122282 basics ofrepparttar 122283 theory of relativity and its more revolutionary offspring, quantum theory. Either theory, if carried out to its extreme, violates every concept on which we base our understanding of reality. Both challenge our notions of our world and ourselves. He cited evidence from both theories that support a new paradigm of a more interrelated, fluid, and less absolute basis of existence, one in which mind is an active participant. ‘Information contributes fundamentally torepparttar 122284 qualities of substance.’ He discussed forms, fields, superconductivity, wave function and electron behavior. ‘Wave function, which operates through form, is closer to life and mind...The electron has a mindlike quality.’” (3) In May 2004 there is a report of an archaeological find in Mayan tunnels (they lovedrepparttar 122285 spiritual cenotes and still do) saying it was a millennium earlier thanrepparttar 122286 Mayan ascendancy and yet it was just 200 BC. Aside fromrepparttar 122287 fact that I have proven these people were there at least 3000 years earlierrepparttar 122288 ‘find’ is a mask of a sun god. The sun god or Heliopolitan Druidism is just one ofrepparttar 122289 esoteric clues to follow in tracingrepparttar 122290 ‘travelers’ or Red-Headed League of Megalith Builders all overrepparttar 122291 world. The Harmonic of Light wasrepparttar 122292 science behindrepparttar 122293 shamanic attunements that led torepparttar 122294 knowledge mythologized inrepparttar 122295 various sun-gods which is also interpreted asrepparttar 122296 ‘son of god’.

New Moon Reflections for Libra

Relationships involve sharing. This means mutual trust, honesty, respect and appreciation. This can be a time when we try to correct or move on from relationships that have grown unsatisfying because they are too one sided. If everything in a relationship (especially a friendship or a romantic partner) is only going your partner's way, then there is no longer any room for growth for you! If this isrepparttar case you are actually not in a "relationship" any more. Without balance between two people there is no basis for any closeness.

This isn’t often verbalized, but when you love another person, you must also love yourself atrepparttar 122262 same time. Ideally there would exist a two-way flow of love and communication between you. It is a very unbalanced situation if you are emotionally involved with a person who does not return your feelings or who is unkind to you. Persisting in such situations is not loving torepparttar 122263 self, and so these sorts of “relationships” are very unhealthy. Inrepparttar 122264 spirit of Libra perhaps unhealthy and unbalanced meanrepparttar 122265 same thing. Libra also rules fairness and negotiations. We can learn how to deal tactfully with others in tricky situations. Win/lose is not Libra. Libra is strictly win-win. This is a great time for cooperative efforts. Instead of being threatened by a differing viewpoint we should strive to be willing to listen and to even validate those different from us. We don't have to agree but we may learn something from hearing a differing viewpoint and just allowing it to exist. If you have never tried stepping back and giving other people this kind of space, space to disagree with you, you may actually find taking this challenge a very rewarding experience. You may learn that just because other people do not agree with you doesn’t make you orrepparttar 122266 other individual “wrong”, just different! From this perspective relationships with others become much less threatening. Other people have a right to be different from us, and we also have a right to our own uniqueness! We are not forced to agree with others, just to validate them.

In terms ofrepparttar 122267 big picture, I see that differences among people can serve a vital function. If many issues in life only went one way there could be no justice or balance (a Libra theme). Allowing individual differences a place to exist and be heard servesrepparttar 122268 world by creating natural "checks and balances" within life. Hearing and considering different viewpoints helps society come up with objective and fair decisions. We can even see this inrepparttar 122269 physical body. Just as smooth and coordinated movements requirerepparttar 122270 interplay of opposing muscle groups to coordinate movement, so too, balance in life comes fromrepparttar 122271 give and take and corrective influence of opposing viewpoints. Although differences in opinions may seem like an imbalance to you personally, inrepparttar 122272 very large overall picture they create balance andrepparttar 122273 opportunity for compromise and harmony. When seen this way, there are no completely "wrong" or "right " approaches to most issues, and everybody's input and opinion is a valid one, even if you disagree with it

Libra's influence is also a great time to think of things artistic, harmonious and beautifying. You could set a goal to beautify your home, your environment at work, and even yourself. This is a time to listen to beautiful music, go to an art museum or cultivate these artistic abilities within yourself.

Libra is an intellectual sign as are allrepparttar 122274 air signs. Unlike its opposite sign, Aries, Libra's influence is never impulsive. This month it is our opportunity to thinks things through carefully before acting. Like it's symbol, repparttar 122275 scales, Libra enables us to weighrepparttar 122276 pros and cons of any problem or situation and come up with fair and balanced solutions.

I wish you all a month of balance and harmony.

The next new moon will be inrepparttar 122277 sign of Scorpio on November 12 at 9:28 am. eastern standard time.
