INSTALLING VINYL REPLACEMENT WINDOWS ON THE SECOND FLOORWritten by John Rocco
Continued from page 1
Now, if you are installing a picture window, it's a little tougher. You can't remove any panels to lighten load, and it's tougher to get as firm a grip on frame. But, on positive side, picture windows aren't usually much larger than 3' by 5' on second floor. If you have a large picture window, or if you have several to install, I have access to suction cups that are used in glass industry. You can attach them to glass and use them as handles when extending frame outside through opening. Contact me on my website at How to install windows if you want to get pricing on suction cups. You can get smaller, inexpensive models for around $40 each. So, if you are hesitating to replace your old windows yourself because you didn't think you could do upstairs windows, now you know you can. Next week's topic is going to be about replacing rollers on your patio door. If you can't hardly open your sliding glass door anymore, a couple of new rollers can make all difference in world. Feel free to light several complementary scents at once. The seasons and holidays are full of naturally occurring complementary fragrance. Each season contains a wealth of pleasing smell. The holiday season probably provides most scent. Recreate memories of Christmas past with gingerbread, vanilla, cinnamon, eggnog, clove, nutmeg, pine, peppermint candles. The scents don't compete, because they occur naturally, and you've smelled them from infancy. If you can think of a memory, you can find a candle to recreate mood. Look around your home. You've probably created a room or two around a theme. Perhaps you've created an indoor sunroom. Bring scents of outdoors into your sunroom to add authenticity. Perhaps you've built a room around a color. Add lavender-scented candles to that lavender room, rose-scented candles to a pink room, new-mown grass-scented and rain forest candles to a green room, vanilla or gardenia to a white room, and seaside to a blue room. Don't forget kitchen. Not only will you want to add scent, but you may want to eliminate odors as well. If you've created perfect dinner for guests, last thing you want is smell of garlic, onion, or fish wafting through your home when they arrive. If odor is overpowering, turn on kitchen fan, spray a little odor neutralizer in air, and light citrus-scented candles to replace cooking odors with clean scent of fruit. Cheaper than a trip to paradise, quicker than you can even say "banana bread," you can light a candle. If your mind can imagine it, you can create it with scented candles for mere pennies!
