Hunting Whitetail Deer Using Deer Drives

Written by David Selman, Tracker-Outdoors.com

Drivers need to stay close enough together to keep deer from slipping throughrepparttar gaps (the thickerrepparttar 133149 cover, repparttar 133150 closer together they should be). Posters should sit downwind of drivers in an area (preferably elevated) that offers clear shooting lanes. For safety's sake, drives should be carefully planned; everyone should wear hunter-orange clothing and always be aware of each other's positions.

Flies For Great Lakes Steelhead

Written by Cameron Larsen

Continued from page 1

Steelhead consume lots of eggs in their lifetime. Especially inrepparttar winter, when suckers move uprepparttar 133148 rivers to spawn. The most popular egg pattern isrepparttar 133149 Sucker Spawn, withrepparttar 133150 Crystal Meth a close second. Egg patterns are generally bounced alongrepparttar 133151 bottom. And are a good choice all winter long into March.

The last class of patterns fished for Erie steelhead isrepparttar 133152 basic nymph and beadhead nymphs. Like trout, steelhead consume lots of nymphs in their lifetime. The same nymphs that are popular for trout fishing are used in Steelhead Alley. With Hare’s Ear, Prince, caddis larva and stonefly imitations beingrepparttar 133153 most popular. Buggy nymphs seem to work best, and although bug life is fairly dormant inrepparttar 133154 winter these are never a bad choice.

Some classic steelhead patterns fromrepparttar 133155 Northwest are used as well, includingrepparttar 133156 Green Butt Skunk. And in murky watersrepparttar 133157 Popsicle is popular along with other bright streamers.

After reachingrepparttar 133158 water, use some ofrepparttar 133159 same techniques discussed on out other steelhead articles, clearer water go smaller and more subtle colors, high, murky water go brighter and larger.
