To understand this further, let's look at some numbers.

Credit Card #1: $100/month minimum Credit Card #2: $250/month minimum Car Payment: $250/month minimum House Payment: $800/month minimum

Total Minimums: $1400/month minimum Extra Payoff $$: $150/month

>From this, you can see that we're going to be making $1550 per month payments until everything is paid off. The first credit card will get $250 a month payments until it is paid off.

Step Four: MOVE TO THE NEXT LARGER DEBT Now that you have one debt paid off, start applying everything you were paying on smaller debt toward next larger one. Now you're paying minimum payment on this debt plus total amount you were paying on freshly eliminated debt.

For example, if you just paid off first of 2 credit cards, you will now be making minimum payments on both house and car, with rest of your monthly debt payments (equal to amount you have already been paying) being applied towards second credit card. In this example, second credit card will receive original $250/month payment plus $250/month that we were paying on first card, for a total of $500/month until it is paid off.

Step Five: REPEAT AND CONTINUE THROUGH ALL DEBTS Once second debt is paid off, just move on to next larger debt and pay that one off. In above example, car debt will start to receive $750/month until it is paid off, after which house debt will get $1550 a month until it's paid off.

Most people can eliminate all of their debts in 5 to 7 years using this plan, and that includes their house! Imagine owning your house free and clear in 7 years or less!

Step Six: INVEST IN ASSESTS Now that you have $1550 a month extra income that you weren't using for living expenses, redirect that cash flow into investments that will grow and pay you a passive income. Do this first before you start spending it on luxuries and whatnot. A couple of years of this and you will have a huge investment portfolio that will give you a solid income that you won't have to work for! How much fun will you have receiving an income while you get to go play?

Although I believe that it's possible to achieve a state of quiet mind while retaining ability to communicate effectively, I have not felt it was ever a good time to go through process. Mostly because of ego, as I never wanted to appear to be less intelligent than I was. What I have done, however, is to set aside time periods where I work to turn off chattering monkey in order to focus my mental energies more effectively on a specific task. Although not as ideal, it seems to be a good compromise. And over years, I believe that I am moving towards ideal.

Each session where I eliminate a fair portion of chattering monkey, I gain sharper insights into world around me, and subject that I focus my attention upon at time. Over time, this has given me a deeper understanding of many subjects, which in turn has increased my level of intelligence. I recognize which pathways of thought are effective since I have had opportunity to let my mind travel a greater number of pathways. This results in quicker thinking, even when I'm not working on quieting chattering monkey.

In many situations, this has proven to be of great use, as I am now able to learn a subject in about half time it used to take, and I am also able to quickly analyze a situation and find similarities between this new situation and one I've studied previously. Only in last couple of months have I started to learn about setting up websites and working with server scripts, cgi's, and MySQL databases. I may not be an expert yet, but that will only take a little more time. Not only can I work with all these things, but I can customize many aspects of things I'm working with.

There is a quote from Abraham Lincoln that sums up importance of learning to speed up your thinking. The quote is "If I only had 6 hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend 4 hours sharpening axe." You're going to spend rest of your life learning and analyzing situations. Be smart and spend some time sharpening your mind. Set aside specific times where you quiet your chattering monkey. Give your mind freedom it needs to quickly move from one thought to another. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish.
