How do you define happiness?Written by David Leonhardt

Spammers also waste emails on replacing body parts we never had and enhancing body parts we could never have, when what we really want is to know God better. Here is a typical spammer email: "Hair loss? We just released miracle cure. Grow your hair back thicker than a wooly mammoth preparing for next ice age. This is worth a gazillion dollars, but you get it free for just pennies a day. Give me your credit card number before midnight tonight. I can't afford to offer this price for long. Beware phony products that drip funny colors in your face or make hair grow in all wrong places. This is real thing!" Instead, spammers should be saying: "Faithless? Book your luncheon with Pope, dinner with Dalai Lama and a one-on-one chat with Moses. Reserve your seat free for just a handful of pennies. Give me your credit card number before midnight tonight. Act now. I can't afford to offer this price for long. Beware phony reservations for meetings with Michael Jackson and other fake gods. This is real thing!" By way, Mother Nature was also a part of many definitions of happiness. So take your family down by river for a prayer. And if you can lend a helping hand to a chipmunk or a duck, you'll be perfect definition of happiness.

How can I be an alcoholic when I work, play, and function in society without any problems? Let’s say your driving down road, fully in control of your vehicle, when all of a sudden tire blows out. You are not prepared for this, and you hit brakes. The car swerves and hits another vehicle. You come to a stop. There were no injuries to your wife, kids, or other driver. You could say that all’s well because you didn’t hurt anyone. But if we are honest about it, you did damage to your car and other persons car. They will be without a car for a while. You will be without a car for a while. Think about all that will be affected by accident. You will, and your family will, have to make major adjustments to their life. The other driver will have to make major changes also. In addition to this, there will be much apprehension every time wife, kids, co-worker and others get into a car that your in control of. The stress alone will affect everybody around you- yet you maintain to yourself and everybody else, that you are in control and there is nothing to fear. In your mind you are right. Put this scenario into play about your drinking. Is it not same? You feel fully functional, but yet when a problem arises you don’t react right way and there is damage done- although in your mind you may feel you handled situation correctly. Just look around you, and into faces of those you love, and you will see a different perspective. I remember someone saying, “I want to die peacefully, way my granddad did, not like others in car who were all screaming hysterically.” Maybe I Can Drive That Car / Alcohol and Drug Addiction Survival Kit are NI-COR TM / Copyright © 2003 NI-COR.
