So what did I do? I continued at my attempts at making biscuits my conventional way...which always ended in complete disaster. Finally, repparttar other day, I broke down and bought a flour sifter. A small, can-shaped mechanism that turned flour through a sieve. I used allrepparttar 129089 same ingredients once again. This time I was smarter though - I only made half a batch just in case they didn't turn out. No need to waste good ingredients, I thought. Funny thing was that when I patted downrepparttar 129090 dough, it felt lighter, silkier and bigger. Okay, it's just a glitch, I thought again, there was no way on earth that these biscuits would turn out right.

Next, I cut them into rounded shapes (like before) and placed them on an ungreased baking sheet. Whew! I felt like a school girl taking her final exam to pass class. Settingrepparttar 129091 timer for 10 minutes, I constantly went back and forth to check these obviously mal-attempted biscuits. Whenrepparttar 129092 buzzer beeped, I retrievedrepparttar 129093 baked goods. They had actually risen... and they didn't weigh a ton either. Something had to be wrong with them though...afterall, I had baked them. Now camerepparttar 129094 taste test...fluffy, flaky, tasty. Viola! I had baked a batch of biscuits that were actually edible. I couldn't believe it myself.

It was then that I had a sudden realization. Allrepparttar 129095 years I had tried to bakerepparttar 129096 perfect biscuit, I had allrepparttar 129097 right ingredients, but I didn't haverepparttar 129098 right tool to accommodaterepparttar 129099 final product. The sad part was thatrepparttar 129100 tool was there all along, I just had to go out, get it and use it. And it was that enlightening moment that I also realized that biscuits can teach a person about life. We all haverepparttar 129101 right ingredients to achieve our goals in life, but sometimes if we aren't usingrepparttar 129102 appropriate tools, we set ourselves up for failure. Thus, when we utilize tools that are virtually always with us - such as logic, faith, commitment, hope and so much more, then we ultimately can attain our life's fulfillment. Is life like baking a biscuit? Maybe not exactly, but it surely can make one seerepparttar 129103 sweet irony of this simple metaphor.

Written by Peter Murphy

Continued from page 1

Decide how you want your life to be. What do you need most in your life at this moment - energy, peace, quiet, tranquility, wisdom, spiritual growth?

Make a promise to yourself that you will achieve whatever you want, and then set about to make it happen.

4. Concentrate on what's most important and prioritize your task list (this should be done both at your job and at home).

A good method is to place each item on your "to do" list in its proper perspective by having three lists: "MUST Be Done," "Should Be Done," and "Nice Things To Do."

Once you place a value on each item you will quickly see that some things need not be done at all. In fact, repparttar only time procrastination may pay off might be when everything onrepparttar 129086 "Nice Things To Do" list can all be marked off as unnecessary.

5. Don't be afraid to ask for help. The sheer volume of tasks in our daily lives is enough to make us want it to "just go away."

As a result we procrastinate, thus losing our motivation. It is not a sign of incompetence or inefficiency to admit you need help.

Let your co-workers or your supervisor at work know you need help. At home, evenrepparttar 129087 smallest child in your family can do simple tasks.

Slow down, simplify, spend less, enjoy simple pleasures with your family that don't cost a cent, and your life may become more beautiful, happier and fulfilling.

Getting organized and ridding yourself of things that are unnecessary arerepparttar 129088 first steps of learning how to stay motivated until you succeed.
