North American wood turtles find their earthworm meal by “stomping." For doing so, they raise shell high above ground on extended legs, then collapsing against moist earth. The vibrations from this apparently induce earthworms to surface, and there tortoise can easily eat them.

Nesting

It may be noted that all turtles nest on land. Females are very much sure about finding needed amount of ground moisture and temperature when searching for a nesting site. Some of turtle species gather together a mound of vegetation for nesting site. Although some turtles choose to dig a body pit with forelimbs, nest itself is dug with hindfoot.

After finding a proper place for nesting and making proper arrangements for eggs to be laid, turtle lays their eggs. They can’t guard these eggs from predators and so a very few of them actually live.

We also needed a pet ramp and found training Charlie to use it was pretty simple: Charlie adapted to ramp easily but we've been told that some of our doggies don't, we suggest you put ramp flat on ground & walk your pet friend over it (a reward placed on ramp also helps or you might try feeding him on ramp once or twice). When you raise ramp, your pets favorite treat placed towards top of ramp also works first time.
