A good story with a mediocre salesperson is better than a bad story told by most articulate salesperson. Lack of slickness is actually an asset.

If you had greatest press kit in world-but a lackluster story-I couldn't get you on Today Show . But if you were pregnant with Osama Bin Laden's baby, I could get you on with a smudged fax.

In America Today, for better or worse, way we become credible is by being visible. These are wacky times. Where there's no visibility, there is no credibility. That's just way it works.

For instance, if you clean your kitchen in this order every time you've got a system:

1. Put dishes in dishwasher
2. Wipe counters
3. Clean floor

But does that system actually work? That's where tracking comes into play. If you know exactly what you should be doing and you're actually doing it then you can track results of what you've done.

The next part is where beauty of a system comes into play. You are not locked into doing that particular system forever. In fact, I'd recommend you change it from time to time. But what you need to do is test this system alongside your new system and see which one performs better.

You're basically playing two systems against each other to see which performs better. And, as long as you adjust, your processes will get better and better as time goes along.

That's what successful marketers do. In fact, you can see this in place with folks who run campaigns with Google's AdWords program. They'll run an ad side by side just to see which one performs better.

They put a system in place, test results and above all - track everything they do. If you do same with your systems, you'll probably find areas to increase your income that you never even thought of before!
