Then since this isrepparttar case our first priority should be to ensure that justice is carried out around us, that we show mercy to our "neighbors," and that we practice our faith and not just talk about it, while letting go all stereotypes, forms of discrimination and hatred.

TREASURE IN HEAVEN

A rich young man was wealthy enough for this life but he wanted to know about eternal life. He was unsure of his destiny and came to Jesus seeking security for his future.

Luke 18:18-25 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Thou knowestrepparttar 135159 commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute untorepparttar 135160 poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter intorepparttar 135161 kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter intorepparttar 135162 kingdom of God.

Notice how Jesus did not challengerepparttar 135163 young ruler's claims about his life, but said that he still lacked just one more thing. He then toldrepparttar 135164 young man to sell all that he had, distribute torepparttar 135165 poor, and he would have treasure in heaven.

This focused on his wealth and causedrepparttar 135166 rich man to become very sorrowful because his money was obviously most important to him.

However, Jesus clearly makes service to othersrepparttar 135167 last indication of fitness for eternal life aside from keepingrepparttar 135168 ten commandments.

Therefore real wealth involves following Jesus by living not to be served, but to serve others and to devote one's life torepparttar 135169 well being of others.

Christians in Peril

“My little children” We are little Children ofrepparttar Father and we tend to make mistakes. We will not sin willfully, for it is no longer in our nature to sin. For we are ofrepparttar 135158 seed of our Father in Heaven. But we, as Paul stated, still flawed byrepparttar 135159 very fact that we are still inrepparttar 135160 flesh andrepparttar 135161 flesh is weak. I feel in my spirit that I must includerepparttar 135162 following verses. Rom 7:8-25 But sin, taking occasion byrepparttar 135163 commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For withoutrepparttar 135164 law sin was dead. For I was alive withoutrepparttar 135165 law once: but whenrepparttar 135166 commandment came, sin revived, and I died. Andrepparttar 135167 commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion byrepparttar 135168 commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Whereforerepparttar 135169 law is holy, andrepparttar 135170 commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin byrepparttar 135171 commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know thatrepparttar 135172 law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent untorepparttar 135173 law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. Forrepparttar 135174 good that I would I do not: butrepparttar 135175 evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight inrepparttar 135176 law of God afterrepparttar 135177 inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring againstrepparttar 135178 law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity torepparttar 135179 law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me fromrepparttar 135180 body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then withrepparttar 135181 mind I myself serverepparttar 135182 law of God; but withrepparttar 135183 fleshrepparttar 135184 law of sin.

Many a Christian aroundrepparttar 135185 world, are being persecuted for their belief in Jesus Christ. We must renew ourselves inrepparttar 135186 Spirit and be ready to suffer with those who suffer, as we are, One inrepparttar 135187 Body with Christ. We as Christians are not an island unto ourselves but we are a guiding light torepparttar 135188 world, we are inrepparttar 135189 world but not ofrepparttar 135190 world. Inrepparttar 135191 world to guiderepparttar 135192 world to Christrepparttar 135193 Righteous. Remember what I stated atrepparttar 135194 beginning of this sermon? Lets look again. We work and cannot obtain, we save and spend more, we fight and loose ground, we obtain and have less, we learn and understand little, we pray and little is accomplished. 1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. Tit 3:1 put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2Ti 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them beforerepparttar 135195 Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but torepparttar 135196 subverting ofrepparttar 135197 hearers. 1Ti 4:6 If thou putrepparttar 135198 brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up inrepparttar 135199 words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.I pray that this sermon has helped all of us understand our mission for Christ.
