Healing Racism, Hatred and Violence

The way I see it, racists are waving a large flag that says: "I feel deeply inadequate, insecure, fearful, flawed. I am terrified of anyone knowing about these feelings, so I will hide them by pretending to be better than others. This will protect me from ever having to feel how defective I really feel." Hitler, with his highly abusive background and his deep self-hatred forrepparttar small part of himself that was Jewish, illustratesrepparttar 132553 extreme of what I am talking about.

The problems of racism and violence will not be resolved until: 1) Our child-rearing practices change to produce people with high self-esteem instead of deep core shame. 2) Adults commit to their inner healing work which involves healingrepparttar 132554 wounded aspects of themselves that resort to hate and violence when threatened.

It is necessary for each individual to practice a healing process on a daily basis, such asrepparttar 132555 one that I teach called Inner Bonding (see resources below for a free course), so that graduallyrepparttar 132556 fears and false beliefs ofrepparttar 132557 wounded self are healed and replaced byrepparttar 132558 truth: that we are all children of God, equal inrepparttar 132559 eyes of God. When we heal our wounded selves, we will feel our oneness with all living beings, and would never think of harming another person. When we know ourselves to berepparttar 132560 love that is God, we will see and feel that love within each person we meet, regardless of what they look like onrepparttar 132561 outside. When we learn to love our own soul - our own individual expression of Spirit - we will naturally loverepparttar 132562 souls of others.

Power and Politics

Revamping our election process would give people like Dave an opportunity to run for office. We desperately need people who care more forrepparttar common good than for their own popularity. We need brilliant, creative, honest and caring people to lead our country, but this will never happen with our present election system. We have incredible talent in this great country of ours, talent that could eliminate hunger and homelessness, and healrepparttar 132551 internal wounds that create health problems, drug abuse, racism, violence and crime. But this talent is rarely tapped because running our country has been based onrepparttar 132552 earthly values of greed and power over others rather thanrepparttar 132553 spiritual values of honesty, compassion and caring.

Unfortunately, neither our government nor most big businesses are based onrepparttar 132554 spiritual principles of compassion and caring aboutrepparttar 132555 common good. I have no doubt that if our government was based on spiritual principles we would not haverepparttar 132556 hunger, homelessness, crime, health problems, and drug abuse that are endemic to our modern society.
