Have you ever watched a dog that is chained up or stuck in a house? All he does is lay around and sleep. He's depressed! But you let him off that chain... give him some room to roam... he's running and tracking critters down! Just like ol' Riley is happy chasing after a couple deer or coyotes... doing things he was created by God to do... (He sure wasn't created to be cooped-up in a house in burbs...) Men are happiest when they are outdoors... workin', sweatin', freezin', and gettin' rained on... you know what I mean. And we're really happy when girls bring out refreshments, and make such a big fuss over their hard working men. There is something about corporate America scene that robs a man of his manhood. His hands get soft... He doesn't get out in fresh air... He's away from his family... wife he loves and his dear children. Men, I guess that's one reason why I have such a passion for outdoors. It's more than hunting. It's more than fishing. It's about getting outdoors, with ones you love, and feeling like a real man.

Pay attention when God calls you to serve others. Listen with your heart, not your mind. Hear what God wants you to do—not what you think should be done.

You might think a check to pay a bill will solve someone’s problem, but that might not be what God wants you to do. God may want you to teach that person how to budget his income so that he’s not in same boat next month. You might think a prayer is all that is needed, but God might want you spend quality time with that person. You might think a having a garage sale to remove clutter from someone’s life will help her get more focused, but God might want you to help that person reorganize her life by ministering to her soul while you weed through her material possessions.

Taking time to listen to what God wants you to do, humbling yourself to do what He has called you to do, and then faithfully following His orders regardless of how uncomfortable it makes you is truly what a servant’s heart is all about. It’s selfless love at its best and God couldn’t ask for a better gift or testimony of your relationship with Him.
