Task: Get specific. That proposal will take at least 12 hours to complete. What task are we going to accomplish on Saturday morning from 9:00 am to 10:00 am?

Procrastination: I'll figure that out on Saturday at 9:00 am.

Task: We'll eat uprepparttar hour just brainstorming. Since I've already got your attention, why don't we just put down a roadmap right now. Say you're going to keep that Saturday morning block open every week. We estimate 12 hours forrepparttar 123651 project, so that's about three months. Let's get a goal down for each of those Saturday morning appointments... What...? What?! What's wrong...?! You're shaking! Sweating...! A volcano about to...!

Procrastination: AAAAARRRRGHHHHH!!! Okay, okay, I confess! You win! I... I'm... I'm...GOAL-A-PHOBIC! Yes, yes, it's true! I'm quick to come up withrepparttar 123652 grand plan, but i... im... imp... IMPTAYSUN! I can't bear it... I'm allergic to it! I can't even say it right.

Task: "Implementation." Now, now, take a deep breath. Don't get so down on yourself. Some of our projects have gone off magnificently. We've accomplished a lot together. It's just certain projects that you seem to get stuck on - like this proposal.

Procrastination: Well, face it. There's not a chance that proposal will get accepted. It's just wishful thinking. I don't want to go through all of that work and then have to go throughrepparttar 123653 rejection. Andrepparttar 123654 marketing part of it - who's going to get that done? Not to mentionrepparttar 123655 money we'll need to get it offrepparttar 123656 ground.

Task: Fear. That's fear talking. You know we've done our research and I choose to believe forrepparttar 123657 best outcome. We'll never know unless we start. And, we'll never start unless you stop speaking from fear. Now let's start getting that roadmap together. The goals need to be specific, written, engaging, attainable, and time-bound.

Procrastination: That's a lot to remember.

Task: They make uprepparttar 123658 acronym S-W-E-A-T.

Procrastination: Ugh.

Task: That's...

Specific. Ifrepparttar 123659 goal is too broad, we'll lose track.

Written, so that we can express in focused terms what needs to get done; and we can keep it in front of us.

Engaging, so that we are motivated, interested inrepparttar 123660 project. There may be some steps that don't thrill us, butrepparttar 123661 overall project must come fromrepparttar 123662 heart.

Attainable, so that we have peace with knowing that with a plan and some work, this project can become a successful reality.

Time-bound: You get what you measure. A goal is a dream with a deadline. Enough said. Let's go.

If It Looks Like A Duck And It Quacks Like A Duck.........

Written by Richard Vegas

Continued from page 1

I rememberrepparttar last time I was in a pet store; I boughtrepparttar 123650 neatest little super-duper pooper scooper for my cat's litter box. I'll betrepparttar 123651 guy that discovered that made a fortune off of it; hehehe… Considering what I had to do, before I had that little device, I was glad to buy it. :>)

But, a mentally nearsighted person comes with his own set of problems. Here isrepparttar 123652 dude that can only seerepparttar 123653 nose in front of his face. He sees no value in planning, thinking, and preparing forrepparttar 123654 future. Thinking of anything more than a day away, for him, gets his knickers all in a twist.

He is so pre-occupied withrepparttar 123655 alligators that are trying to eat him right now, that he can't free his mind, to give his creative juices enough energy, to look intorepparttar 123656 distance and seerepparttar 123657 big picture. Being able to see downrepparttar 123658 road and mentally visualize great possibilities is a phenomenal function ofrepparttar 123659 human brain.

Be an Eagle Eye!

This type of creative mental vision is a skill that can be learned and exercised. It is a skill that we all need to develop so we can learn to look into our own private world with a fresh mental vision and seerepparttar 123660 opportunities that are already about us andrepparttar 123661 ones that are inrepparttar 123662 distance that will come our way.

At times you may think you know a duck as soon as you see it. But, atrepparttar 123663 same time, if it's not acting like a duck then you may say; "this has no value". Don't do that.

Don't write it off and say, "Well, it ain't quacking, so it ain't a duck". Hey, you just might need your mental vision tweaked a little bit. You might be right onrepparttar 123664 verge of discovering something as slick as snot on a doorknob. You never know.

A Sitting Duck!

Now listen; we all have a tendency to see only what we want to see; and, to see mentally is to think. And, when you spend quality time thinking, you are exercising your mental capacity for vision and planning and preparing forrepparttar 123665 possibilities to come your way. Spending quality time thinking is a sure fire way to find out whether this duck is a quacker.

And, while you're thinking, ask yourself questions: lots of questions. This will truly get your mental juices flowing and teach you how to think and decide whether your duck is going to start talking like a duck.

Ask all sorts of questions aboutrepparttar 123666 circumstances you're facing right now. This will show you how to exercise your mental nearsightedness.

A Man Of Many Words!

Ask yourself questions about how you will handle new opportunities when they present themselves; this will exercise your mental farsightedness. You have already faced enough opportunities to know how to ask yourself these questions.

Asking yourself or others questions about things you don't understand will exercise both your mental visions and reward you richly. And, you could make a great discovery. Who knows, maybe you will berepparttar 123667 next guy to inventrepparttar 123668 next great super-duper pooper scooper.
