Every time you apply for an affiliate program, fill in information on this spreadsheet. This is imperative because you will join hundreds of programs, and you will never be able to keep track of all usernames, passwords and URL's on your own.

I now have over 200 vendors with whom I have accounts. If you think you need only 3 or 4 accounts and you will make money… keep thinking.

Ok, now that you have APO Spreadsheet on your computer, here are some places where you can find affiliate programs. Now don't think you have to apply to all of them right now. I STILL apply for affiliate programs on a daily basis and add them to my website. If I see a product I like and think my website visitors would like it, before I put it onto my site, I first check to see if they have an affiliate program, join it and then put product on my site, using my affiliate link.

Note: There are basically 3 different ways to find affiliate programs to join.

1. Through websites that offer you links to affiliate programs of other companies. You would sign up for each affiliate program separately through companies website. (Affiliate Portals)

2. Through websites that offer thousands of affiliate programs by joining their site. Therefore you would have one log-in for as many different affiliate programs that you join off their website. (Affiliate Network)

3. Through company's website that is actually offering affiliate program (Affiliate Programs)

The affiliate programs you will need to seek on your own, because there are literally thousands and thousands of companies that offer affiliate programs for their own products. The links I am providing are to portals and networks where you can browse categories to find affiliate programs you'd like to join.

Write a free ebook within subject of your theme Add your affiliate links

Is your theme about entertainment on internet? Write an ebook about "Top 100 Joke Sites" or "The Best Match Making Sites". Add all entertainment affiliate links in your ebook along with your website address and contact information.

Now give this ebook away like mad. Free for everyone. Be sure to put in ebook that they have 100% resell or give-away rights, so they too will give it away. Push it enough and you can have thousands and thousands of your ebook all over internet all filled with your affiliate links. Are you beginning to see how this can be profitable?

Submit ebook to free ebook sites.

When I suggested to someone to write an ebook in his spare time, he said he would type title and start table of contents and then get stuck. Problem: How to you type a table of contents when you haven't even written book yet? How do you know what is in it and which chapter each piece of information would be in. Never try and come up with a title or table of contents before you write a book. Just start writing. I know, you're saying "Write what?". I wish I had correct answer for everybody, but I don't. All I can tell you is when I decided to write this ebook, I just opened up Microsoft Word and started typing. Later, I printed what I had, added things, deleted things and proofread. I decide where to add which affiliate link, where to add links to related websites, etc. Then I do it all over again. Eventually, I will have a whole book. Then I compile it into an ebook.

You may want to look at Extreme eBook Creations. Their package gives you ebooks on subjects about writing and promoting ebooks as well as actual eBook creator software for free.

Write an ebook to be sold, within subject of your theme. Add your affiliate links

The same as before, however with this ebook, try to add something of extreme value that would push a person to purchase ebook, such as a whole package of eBooks with resell rights, or a free vacation certificate. Let potential buyers know they can resell all of ebooks one-by-one or as a whole package. Or they can use package as an incentive to sell another of their products.

Another way to add value would be to include other free eBooks with purchase of yours, or something else free off your website.

List ebook on eBay. Experiment with different pricing and listing options.

When I offered my 1st ebook for sale on eBay, I started at $4.00 and with a regular .30 listing. I sold about 30 of these. Profit = $120.00 - .30 listing fee

The next time I listed it, I upped price to $7.00 and paid extra to have my listing in bold print. I sold about 20. Profit = $140.00 - 2.30 listing fee

Then I got really bold and upped price to $9.00 and put auction on a Featured Plus auction ($19.95 listing fee). I sold around 30 of those. Profit = $270.00 - 20.25 listing fee

Even bolder, I went to a $14.99 price and put listing in a Featured Home Page ($99.95 listing fee). I only sold 9 of those, so I barely broke even. Profit = $134.91 - 99.95 listing fee

I decided to stay with $9 price and Featured Plus. It not only generated most profit, but more people saw auction and even if they didn't buy ebook, they sometimes went to my "About Me" page which contains information about my website or they would buy one of my other auctions.

With right auction title on my listing, I can get up to 500+ people look at my auction. A great deal of them visit and join my website and likely purchase my product off my website other than through eBay, saving me final value fee eBay charges. I say likely, because there is no way for me to track if person first saw my auction and then came to my website and purchased.

It is not simple, nor quick, nor too easy. This is not for faint of heart. Sorry, I am not going to tell you lies that you will be rich overnight. But I will tell you that this CAN happen. If you are willing to really work, possibly alienate your family for awhile and push yourself to limits, you honestly can achieve success on internet.

If you want to sit back and purchase scam after scam on internet, hoping to become a millionaire in a month, then stop reading this now. This is not for someone who wants to create a one page website, throw up a bunch of affiliate links, go to Hawaii and come back with 10,000 orders waiting. That is not reality.

WHAT IS AN AFFILIATE AND HOW EXACTLY DO YOU MAKE MONEY AT THIS?

Simply put, you are an affiliate if you sell something that belongs to a vendor (the creator/owner of product) and you make money from it, or a commission. It is also sometimes called being an "Associate" or "Reseller"

You make money by promoting these products, enticing people to visit and purchase from vendors site. When you become an Affiliate, you are assigned a unique ID that is attached to all web visitors that click on your links.

Vendors offer payment programs in a few different forms:

1. Pay-Per-Click: They pay you for everyone who clicks through to their site from yours.

2. Pay-Per-Lead: In most cases it is defined as somebody who signs up for a free trial or free service. You send a web visitor to vendors site where web visitor will sign up for something free that vendor offers and you are paid a set amount for each person who signs up for free thing, say a $1.00 per.

3. Pay-Per-Sale: You are paid a flat amount commission or a percentage of all purchases web visitor makes while on vendors site after they clicked through from your website.

You can be an affiliate for another company and sell their products or if/when you create your own product, you can become a Vendor and then other people will become your affiliate and sell your product(s).

Decide on your website "Theme". Choose a subject you somewhat enjoy. You do not want to be stuck doing something you do not enjoy or have no interest in. My whole website is devoted to assisting people who want to sell online. I enjoy helping others, giving advice and leading them in right direction. I want to help people stay away from internet scams and stop wasting their money. I especially want to help mothers who want to work from home because they seem to be targeted most for these scams. I'm so tired of seeing ads for mothers to sell candles, homemade soaps, Mary Kay and Tupperware. I've been using computers for 15 years, PC and Mac's. I am well versed in programming, web design, hardware, and I can master just about any piece of software you throw at me. I'm not going to be happy sitting around selling scented candles.

Not grow tired of subject easily

Don't choose something you think may not hold your interest for a long time. Don't think of this as a quick way to make money for next 6 months. This could be your lifetime income if you dedicate yourself fully. It will take time and you WILL get frustrated, but hopefully with this guide, a lot of hard work will be cut out for you. I don't want you to waste your time wading through scams and dead ends. Don't throw your money into slick campaigns. With my way, MOST everything will be free. If you do your work, you don't have to give hundreds away to advertise yourself. I am proof, I have done it, I am here. I have 3 children, go to college full-time and I made a success of my business.

Already have good resources for subject

People will always say "I don't know anything that would interest anyone". That's simply not true. You haven't opened your mind to what you do know. Here's an example using someone who is most likely to say she has nothing to say of interest:

A housewife stays home with her kids, cooking and cleaning, carpooling and ironing. She could start a free website with resources for stay-at-home-mom. On website she would have affiliate links to companies that cater to housewives and/or work-at-home moms. She could write following free ebook: "101 Tips to Stay Sane - A Housewife's Memoir". The ebook would be filled with her affiliate links plus a link to her website. She would then give this ebook away everywhere, on message boards, free ebook submittal sites, put a signature on her emails with a link to free ebook, etc…

Open all necessary accounts for online transactions

eBay, best advertising you will find for .30¢ List something for sale on auction sites that has to do with your theme. Using Housewife example from before, she could list an iron for sale. Then in listing, put a paragraph that says something like

"Are you going insane from being a housewife? Get my free ebook '101 Tips to Stay Sane - A Housewife's Memoir'. Send a blank email to housewife@yourdomain.com and you will instantly receive ebook."

She will have an auto responder set up so that when she receives email at that address with a particular phrase in subject line, a reply will be automatically sent back with either a link to where they can download ebook or ebook will be attached to email already.

Also in email is a link to her webpage so person will visit and hopefully join her website/newsletter list. So for a .30 listing fee for 7 days (on eBay), she will have a ton of people just downloading her free ebook with all her affiliate links inside. Can't get much cheaper advertising than that. She doesn't even have to care if her originally listed iron sells. Think about this… If someone is interested in an ebook "101 Tips to stay sane - A Housewife's Memoir", what ELSE would they be interested in, besides knowing where to find best valium (heh!).
