Freedom of Religion

Another thing that always puzzled me is why prophets and seers are allowed to channel holy books and tell ofrepparttar Messiah's coming, but then we're told byrepparttar 126750 churches that being psychic is demonic? It seems a bit contradictory to me. Every psychic I've ever met lost power over their visions if they weren't acting inrepparttar 126751 highest good. Most ofrepparttar 126752 psychics I've met believe very deeply in a form of God or some sort of a higher magical loving guidance over us. They're visions intorepparttar 126753 other side created that belief. There's nothing quite like chatting withrepparttar 126754 All-Mighty to make a believer out of you. Isn't prayer in and of itself a form of telepathic psychic connection withrepparttar 126755 other side?

It just seems to me that if we quit arguing over what words, labels, and names we give these concepts and quit arguing over methods of prayer and such that we'd see that we're all so much more alike then we are different. I've known three different Catholic men who fell in love withrepparttar 126756 Buddhist faith because it so beautifully highlightsrepparttar 126757 teachings of Christ. I really believe that is what we're meant to do. All ofrepparttar 126758 holy books tell us to love one another. You can't truly love someone if you don't takerepparttar 126759 time to really get to know them and what they stand for. Shouldn't we learn about each other from a place of love rather than from a place of judgement? Nobody can prove that anyone else's religion is wrong and nobody can prove that theirs is right. Too many translators overrepparttar 126760 course of history to be able to be 100% sure about anything any more. We can't really assume thatrepparttar 126761 others are completely wrong and we can't assume that our own religion is completely right. Religion and God is so much more than we can fully understand at this time.

THE PECAN PIE

Written by Irvin L. Rozier

Continued from page 1

We went back torepparttar social hall, and I saved a place on my plate for that pecan pie. I approachedrepparttar 126749 dessert table, and stared with disbelief...no pecan pie in sight! I swallowed my disappointment, and still thanked God forrepparttar 126750 good food I ate. However, I still wanted that pecan pie...just one slice.

Monday morning, I awoke, made some coffee and read my Bible. The scripture I read was Mark 11.24 ("Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye shall receive them, and ye shall have them.") I had prayed for that slice of pecan pie and I was still looking for it.

I finished my reading and went to get in my truck to go to town. I openedrepparttar 126751 door, and there, sitting onrepparttar 126752 front seat, pretty as you please, was a whole fresh homemade pecan pie. As tears of gratitude torepparttar 126753 Lord formed in my eyes, repparttar 126754 Lord spoke to me and said, "See, you only desired a slice ofrepparttar 126755 pie but I can give you a whole one!" Thank God that He cares for and loves us so much.

This event happened almost 5 years ago. When I woke this morning, repparttar 126756 Lord had me write this true story. Bless God if today, repparttar 126757 same neighbor came by and gave me another whole pecan pie as I was writing! That is God's way of confirming that I should write in a book this wonderful true story.

John 3,27 "John answered and said, a man can receive nothing, except it be given him from Heaven."
