Five Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd

Written by Terry Mitchell

Continued from page 1
When I began my career, I didn't make much, but I still always had some money to spare after paying my bills. If I couldn't afford something, I didn't buy it until I could afford it. There were even some things that I was able to afford but still didn't buy because I wanted to have some money left for unexpected expenses. I didn't buy my first car until I was more than a year into my first full-time job. This is a lot of freedom that comes with living below one's means. When everyone around you is struggling to make ends meet and you're not, you really stand out. The fifth way to stand out fromrepparttar crowd is to make decisions based on logic and reason instead of emotion and/or dogma. Too many people react emotionally to situations, rather than thinking them out rationally. For example, many people will get upset if someone calls them a name or flashes a particular gesture at them, even though there's no logical reason to get so agitated by such behavior. It doesn't make you a "blankety-blank" just because someone calls you one. However, many people react as if it does! Other people get caught inrepparttar 129567 dogma trap. They make up their minds first and then look atrepparttar 129568 facts and evidence later. Even when they do get around torepparttar 129569 facts, they will seek only those which seem to support their views while disregarding or explaining away those which seem to support a contrary view. You've met people who are staunch supporters of one particular political party orrepparttar 129570 other, for example. To them, their party is always right andrepparttar 129571 other is always wrong, even though common sense tells us that one particular side of any issue is never right allrepparttar 129572 time. Reasonable people realize thatrepparttar 129573 truth usually lies somewhere betweenrepparttar 129574 two extremes. Many times, I've come across "rah rah" partisan sites inrepparttar 129575 web, which disregardrepparttar 129576 dictates of common sense in favor ofrepparttar 129577 "fact" that their extreme side has corneredrepparttar 129578 market on all truth. By using logic and reason to make your decisions in an open-minded fashion, you give yourself a major advantage over much ofrepparttar 129579 population. There are other ways to stand out fromrepparttar 129580 crowd, even though I've just highlighted five of them here. They include things like using proper grammar and spelling, volunteering for thankless jobs, and always being courteous. I'm sure you could think of many others. The point is that, if you want to stand out fromrepparttar 129581 crowd, there are ways withinrepparttar 129582 power of almost anyone to do so - if he or she is only willing.

The Doomsday Device ... The physical brain in action.

Continued from page 1

We have, as a society, grown to ignorerepparttar virtual mind. It has been overcome and overpowered by orthodoxy, which isrepparttar 129564 basis ofrepparttar 129565 physical brain---standard processing of standard information. The orthodox methods limit us asrepparttar 129566 greatest amount of information is limited byrepparttar 129567 person withrepparttar 129568 least amount of knowledge. In this view, it is ourselves that isrepparttar 129569 person withrepparttar 129570 least knowledge because we are limiting our access torepparttar 129571 vast amount of information available to us.

Many have come to acceptrepparttar 129572 idea ofrepparttar 129573 virtual mind in religious terms. That which is not physically understood is taken as a "miracle" or as an understanding of "faith". However, to truly grasp and take hold ofrepparttar 129574 realities of life, one must move fromrepparttar 129575 elements of faith to that of knowledge. Knowledge of ourselves, repparttar 129576 Universe around us, andrepparttar 129577 interaction gives usrepparttar 129578 power to understand and control our lives.

--- The Doomsday Device ---

Withoutrepparttar 129579 virtual self, left to its own recognizance, repparttar 129580 physical brain creates its own "dynamic structures". But, these structures are merely replications of what is already there. When one "lives inside their own head" they tend to generate their own ideas. Such generation is a downward spiral becauserepparttar 129581 physical brain is focusing and processing "itself". In this case, we end up poking holes in our own existence becauserepparttar 129582 mind is seeking resolution and solutions for itself.

By creating its own structures, it defines resolutions that actually require problems or issues to createrepparttar 129583 "cause" forrepparttar 129584 "effect" or solution. As such, our brain tells us to go out and seek a problem to which it can apply its solution. This is, as grandma called it, "idle hands". I believe it was "idle hands arerepparttar 129585 devil's playground".

In both of these cases, self-flatulation andrepparttar 129586 search for chaos, repparttar 129587 physical brain is seeking information and issues for those solutions that it's created within its own realm. This occurs when we cut offrepparttar 129588 information given to use byrepparttar 129589 virtual self. It literally creates a doomsday device, or a self-destructive situation, in which we cannot move forward, cannot move back, and simply exist in a situation of pure chaos.

--- What's next? ---

Essentially, you need to hang a sign on your brain that states "Authorized Personnel Only". We are not smart enough to go into a closed off brain and create something forward moving. The brain, alone and cut off, can createrepparttar 129590 most tumultuous chaos out of, literally, nothing at all. However, it is in our virtual mind that we can interact and grow to acquirerepparttar 129591 information we need to move forward in our lives.

The virtual mind is that part of us that gives usrepparttar 129592 power, knowledge, and ability to move forward inrepparttar 129593 physical life. The physical realm is never satisfied and is only bent on survival. It isrepparttar 129594 virtual mind, repparttar 129595 soul that is easily fulfilled and is bent on life, love, and happiness. Let it come torepparttar 129596 surface once in a while. Distract your conscious mind and let your brain have a piece of a "souler vacation" from time to time. Not only will it allow you to acquirerepparttar 129597 knowledge you seek, but it will also allow your virtual mind to help you resolve and move forward in your physical life.

I think that I recall John Milton, in "Paradise Lost", saying "The mind is its own place and in itself can make a heaven of hell and hell of heaven." Bravo!
