Fear, whether of flying or of anything else, is always result of what you are telling yourself. Your fear is letting you know that you are off base in your thinking. If you then cover up your fear with an addiction, such as drinking on plane in order to get past fear, then you never deal with lie you are telling yourself that is causing fear.
The wounded part of us always feels afraid when we think we are out of control of something. This part of us, our mind, thinks it can know truth about things. But our minds are programmed with many false beliefs that cause much fear. Truth is not something we can access from our limited mind – it is something we have to open to. The thoughts of our mind will never make us feel safe and will certainly not give us control we seek. True safety lies in opening to Spirit and being guided by Truth. The paradox is that in releasing control to Spirit, we gain sense of control that comes from operating out of Truth.
The mind thinks it can create safety with some form of control. Yet true safety comes from being connected with Source of Truth.

From flu and most common headache to most malignant cancer and hiv-aids, a large number of diseases and organs were analyzed: cholesterol, rheumatism, heart, liver, neck, shoulder. . . . As regards current concepts about heredity and genetic determination, Christiane Beerlandt fiercely pronounces herself against them. Another topic discussed was nutrition. “Just eat foods you like, but you have to apply at same time symbolism of these foods in your daily life.” These days, one often condemns stout people while maintaining cult of slenderness. “This is utterly absurd” according to Christiane Beerlandt, who doesn’t at all advise against use of medicines or medical treatment. “It can be good for many people to resort to them during a certain stage of life; one needs to realize, however, that it’s necessary to work at same time on true healing of an ailment. This can be done by becoming aware of, and by solving, fundamental cause, which is situated on a much deeper level than purely physical or chemical.” As we said before, one needs to search in emotional and psychological realm, in world of one’s convictions, feelings, expectations, and self-image. “Why do I have this illness?” There are perhaps thousands of reasons. If one thoroughly looks for them, it’s possible to find them, to discover that link, and to work on solving them. Concentrating on these underlying reasons and solving them is certainly no easy work. In any case, it allows to have a more healthy relationship with one’s illness, to become aware. Illness is a signal, a warning light: watch out! There’s a bend! It’s up to us to negotiate it well.
