Tray Game
For this game, you will need a tray and about 20 to 25 small items that would be associated with a baby. For instance, you might choose socks, rattle, teething ring, baby book, thermometer, baby food jar, washcloth, diaper pins, piggy bank, spoon, and so on. With everyone sitting around a circle, pass
tray with all
items on it around
room.
Once
last person has had time to view all
items, put
tray out of sight. Then, go back to
person that first viewed
tray and see how many items he or she can name. Keep in mind that someone will need to keep track of each person’s guess with
use of a check off list. That way, you will know
person or persons that win.
Gifts could include something like scented candles, bath soaps, or boxed chocolates. Finally, after
came is over, all
items on
tray are then presented to
mother-to-be!
Smell Game
For
Smell Game, you will take six different jars of baby food, each different. Put
contents into plastic bowls so
content is unknown. Next, each guest will sniff
bowl and then make his or her guess as to
flavor of
food. The person that gets
most right is
winner. Again, small gifts would be great but not necessary.
Clothespin Roundup
With this game, you would hand each guest a clothespin as he or she arrives, asking that it be clipped some where on
clothing. Since a pregnant woman has difficulty crossing her legs,
focus of this game is that no guest can cross his or her legs throughout
entire shower.
If a guest catches someone doing this,
clothespin is taken away and added to that person’s clothing. At
end of
shower,
person with
most clothespins wins a small prize. A variation of this game is to ban
word “baby” throughout
baby shower.
