Mental Care: The Most Important Part By now you may be thinking that while all ofrepparttar above aspects of self-care seem like common sense, they are a lot easier said than done. This is absolutely true for most people with ADD. When you live life feeling chronically overwhelmed, it's very difficult to findrepparttar 115341 time to put these ideas into action. Here's what you can do to set yourself up for success: take time out. Schedule in "down time" every single day to help keep your batteries charged. Retreat fromrepparttar 115342 chaos of daily life and allow yourself time to relax - alone. Even if you spend only five minutes a day meditating, walking, or just sitting quietly, it will allow you to slow your thoughts and will help you center yourself. Then, when you feel centered, take it a step further and express yourself! Write, paint, sing, talk to your plants, or do whatever it is that allows you to express your feelings and emotions! Keeping your feelings and emotions bottled will weigh you down. Finding healthy ways of self-expression will help free your mind and allow you to spend more energy focusing onrepparttar 115343 other aspects of self-care. When you practice excellent self-care, you allow yourself to function at an optimal level. By that time, we are mentally, emotionally and spiritually drained. Our bodies are onrepparttar brink of mechanical meltdown yet we continue to push ourselves without refueling our whole senses.

Here are some tips to finding clarity in your life:

* When we become upset, our blood pressure skyrockets. How do we bring that blood pressure back within normal range? STOP. Breathe. I don't mean simply to "breathe" - take a deep, full inhalation. Letrepparttar 115339 breath fill your entire body from head to toe. Imagine it traveling torepparttar 115340 soles of your feet. Hold it there for a few seconds. Now let it go. Exhale. This breathing technique can be repeated several times until we feel our bodies level.

* Take an aromatic bath before you go to bed. Okay, it doesn't have to be a fancy, French imported aromatic oil - even bubble bath or a pleasant-smelling shampoo will do just fine. Make your bathwater as hot as you can take it (unless medical reasons prevent it). Now, lock your door and put a "Do Not Disturb" sign on it. (A yellow sticky-note will suffice.) Lay back in your bubbling water for at least an hour. Let your fingers and toes turn to prunes. Close your eyes and lean your head back againstrepparttar 115341 tub, or if you'd like, use a bath pillow to support your neck. Either way - don't letrepparttar 115342 outside world in your private sauna. This is your personal time and you deserve it.

* If you're too busy for homemade luxury baths, or ifrepparttar 115343 breathing hasn't calmed your nerves; put on some music. This is something many of us can do while we're working, driving or preparing a meal.
