DIAGNOSING A HEART ATTACKWritten by Jinky C . Mesias

Another way of determining heart attack is by means of blood tests since cardiac enzymes are proteins that are released into blood by dying heart muscles. These cardiac enzymes are usually elevated in blood several hours after start of a heart attack. Moreover, series of blood tests for enzymes especially when performed during a 24 hour period are very useful not only in aiding diagnosis of heart attack but also helps in determining changes in levels of enzyme in blood over time and then correlates with amount of heart muscle that has died. Still nothing can compare to a prompt medical attention in diagnosing and treating a heart attack. The quick evaluation allows for early treatment of potential heart attack symptoms like abnormal rhythms such as ventricular fibrillation. Aside from that, early evaluation of heart attack symptoms also results in early reperfusion which is a procedure to unclog blocked coronary arteries. Moreover, faster blood flow is reestablished more heart muscle that is saved.

| | Prescription Medications For Candida and Their Side EffectsWritten by Dr. Brian Martin
Continued from page 1
In addition to hazardous side effects from prescription drugs, which are used to treat Candida, many prescription drugs may actually contribute to proliferation of Candida. The usage of steroids (cortisones), birth control pills, antacid, anti-ulcer medications, and antibiotics might cause Candida yeast to multiply inside body. Another factor to growth of Candida is a diet extremely high in sugar. As sugar is rapidly metabolized by fungi (especially yeasts,) growth of friendly bacteria is prevented. Consultation with a medical doctor or holistic physician is really only way to determine best possible treatment for each individual. If traditional medicine fails to solve Candida, which is often a recurring problem—alternative treatment therapies are readily available.
