Cyan And Magenta? Why The Goofy Names?Written by Barry Shultz

Cyan and magenta are actually old printing terms for blue and red but there had to be some way to differentiate them between additive and subtractive spectrum. So I guess we're stuck with cyan and magenta for now. So this guy goes to store and says to clerk, "I want to buy a red ink cartridge for my printer". The clerk politely responds, "Sorry we only sell magenta." "Bless you", guy says, "do you need a hankie? Now about that red cartridge". The clerk, nonplussed, repeats, "Sorry we only sell magenta". "You should do something about that head cold", guy says. By now clerk is fuming. "Look, do you want to by magenta or what?" The guy says, "No thanks, but I think I'll get out of here before I catch your cold".

Paper, Envelopes and Labels The quality of what you feed into your printer can also be a factor. Certain types of paper can cause feed problems. Envelopes and labels put more strain on machine than plain paper. Be especially careful with labels as these can sometimes slide off inside fuser or toner cartridge. Humidity and heat can also be a factor. A humid environment can cause your paper to absorb moisture causing feed problems. If you turn off your heat or air conditioning over a weekend, allow room temperature to return to normal before you begin working. At least half of all printer problems can be fixed by end-user if above steps are followed. For more information check out: http://rjgeyer.com/
